graham.reeds
For the last few weeks I have been strapping my suitcase (5 days worth of clothes, wash tackle, and laptop + necessary stuff for living) to the passenger seat as my current suitcase is too big for the bonnet or the boot. Heaven help us if me and La Girlf decides to go away for a week. Most of the cases I have looked at have shopping trolley wheels which take up valuable (and limited) boot/bonnet space. Does anyone have a favourite brand and size when it comes to packing him and his significant other on hols? And with a faint twist of irony the Porsche Design cases are too large also... Founder Beanoir™ Posted December 6, 2017 Founder Share Posted December 6, 2017 I go with soft hold-all’s - you will easily get a week’s worth for you and the GF in the Cayman, I have done several times.
Havard
One of the most practical sports cars I have ever seen so I am surprised you are struggling. Must have too much stuff....
DJMC
Some years before the 981 my wife bought a Pierre Cardin soft suitcase in Aldi of all places. £19.99 - waste of money as it was too small for a "real" holiday and too big as hand luggage. I dug it out of the loft and it fits the top of the froot perfectly, with a flight case under. Another flight case in the boot, then suits, coats, fancy frocks (no not mine, well not outside the house anyhow) go on the engine cover. Quite capacious really. Graham
Search for roadsterbag. I think they have reprimanded but Google should still find it.
DJMC
Similar thread on PH. Someone says two of these fit in the froot: https://www.montrosebag.com/product/offshore-kit-bag-medium/

graham.reeds
I sent an email to Schnell to see if they had a European reseller but got no response so I emailed Montrose bag to see if they would do a custom set in white and black using the dimensions from the Schnell page! See what they come back with.

mr pg
We use Dakine butterfly type cases. Medium size is ideal in the front. You could get two in, but we have one medium, and one small which leaves room for another holdall along with other bits and pieces.

Bushman
Ive used bags similar to the Montrose bags in the same lorry curtain PVC and they are seriously robust. look great too in custom colours especially with the offer of an embroidered Porsche logo on the front.. graham.reeds
Just need to find a Porsche crest which is in keeping with the bags on eBay (not too small and not too thick). Got a mini-break to Granada next weekend so probably no movement on this until after that so I am open to recommendations.
Bushman
just ask the bag manufacturer if they have an in-house embroidery service, , many can do this. Cost is based on stitch count. I have a small Brother machine set up in the loft and I managed to buy a Porsche logo pattern on line that came on a CD. it was about £5. my machine is pretty basic but made a nice job pf a polo shirt. so a professional embroidery machine should do a great job. If the bag company cant do it in house, you could try asking them for a piece of material from the intended bag with a pencilled outline of the part pattern on it and take this to an embroidery specialist to get the logo stitched on where you want it to end up on the finished bag then return it to the manufacturer for assembly
Alligatoridae
This looks promising. Group buy?
Bushman
certainly something to think about 'Gator'. a bulk order of 20 + would certainly make a manufacturer more amenable to a custom run of bespoke bags. lets see if any other members are interested or comment on this. I think its a great idea ..

I note that Schnell Autosport in the US has now got some custom made ones in stock. I’ve emailed them to see what the shipping might be. USD conversion puts them about £150 but shipping and taxes will be added.
