The part numbers for the ducts are 99734148492 and 99734148392 and Euros can get them (Your spring kit looked like it had a Euros sticker on them) 15 hours ago, Andy Fagan said: I'm using Mintex M1166 pads on the CR which work well on road and track and not noisy at all, however using the F-series on the Boxster and they are excellent but they are noisy I don't mind a noisy pad, I've used carbotech on my previous cars and they are nothing but noise & dust but they also have immense stopping power so you live with it! Popular Post GTP
Its been a while so I thought I'd give a little update on what I've been up to- I have not had the time to put the brake parts or IPD stuff on yet as I want to wait unitl I'm not going to get disturbed! I have managed to do the boring service work though and when doing so found a few little issues- I had noticed that the car had been over fueling a little and that was down to one of the O2 sensors in the sports cats coming loose due to not having a crush washer, which in turn had been drawing in air. Next issue that wasnt really a problem but could have turned into one was that one of the coil packs had started to crack, so rather then wait for it to fail I ordered up 6 new ones. Beru have started suppling a different coil pack design as pictured. Two of the other coil packs have been changed at some point as they didnt have the Porsche part numbers on them but they will do as spares! The new packs also come with new bolts. PhilCS
Always nice to refresh parts like coil packs etc. The o2 sensor often makes a metallic rattle when it starts to come loose, surprised you didn't hear it.

You have to remember that my car has the sports cats and a Eurocup GT system, the only time you can hear the rattle is on idle with the windows open- any other time all you get is exhaust noise! I fitted a new crush washer so that should hold it, failing that I will lock wire them all to stop it happening again.
GTP
Guess I will be staying late at work tomorrow! Got to say it- these inlets are a bit of a rip off, better be worth it with a noticable difference! Edited March 15, 2016 by GTP
Founder Beanoir™ Posted March 15, 2016 Founder Share Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) I should know this, but is this just a larger diameter than the standard item? And as for the rattling O2 sensor, it used to drive me nuts on my Gen1, was regularly getting my hand through the wheel and tightening it up! GTP
Basically yes, 74>82mm, but it should also flow better due to the design. I thought that seeing as I have the cats & exhaust it should compliment those once its given a remap. The mapping will be the next step along with a lightweight flywheel but I need to look into mapping options a bit more as I dont like the softronic type options- I want to see my car set up on a rolling road in front of me were I can see afr's, not set up by someone in another postcode or country that hasnt even been in it! Anyone have uk remap experiences?

As I mentioned in philcs' post, I didn't even hear it! I only noticed because my arm moved the 02 sensor round when I was changing the coils I tightend it up but within 20 miles it had come loose again which is when I removed it and fitted a new washer and it's been fine since, well, 50 odd miles! GTP
Got the throttle & inlet on along with the new A.O.S, the car is on the ramp at the moment so have not taken it out to see if there is any difference so will report back later. Just fitted the GT3 brake master and already I'm happy with it- the pedal feel is firmer and there is less travel too but some of this might be down to the previous owner or 'specialist' not bleeding the car properly Edited March 18, 2016 by GTP

GTP
Well, I've done about 5 miles home in the car and my thoughts on the inlet upgrade at the moment are still kind of the same- its still too much money for very little gain and if you don't have the other parts that go with it, I would spend the money elsewhere. HOWEVER..... Normal driving has gained from what it was and now feels like it's halfway between normal & Sport in terms of how the car goes vs throttle useage. Sport mode has gone from being a bit too twitchy for around town driving (IMO of course) to being lovely & smooth everywhere and the one bit I could put my foot down it pulls with no let up or feeling like it has to push through a bit of a dead zone, so that alone has made it worth while to me. For me, the master cyclinder upgrade has impressed the most but it now highlights the awful pad & disc combo! The hard lines going from the calipers to the hoses were showing no signs of wanting to come undone without a fight so the hel lines can wait for another day when I have new hard lines to hand- probably the same day I change the discs & pads! This is why I should learn to accept standard cars
Founder Beanoir™ Posted March 21, 2016 Founder Share Posted March 21, 2016 Have you managed to find somewhere to re-map it for you yet? You've got a few bits on the car now, it must be prime for tuning

I would like to drive it as is for a few hundred miles to make sure all is ok then look into it more. Having worked within the tuning industry myself its difficult to hand my own car over without questioning some of the methods & results people/companies claim, so it may take a while before I find the right tuner! GTP
Just thought I would update this since in a weeks time I have owned it a year! The car is still going well, I've got some H&R springs & anti roll bars, gt3 arms & lightweight solid flywheel to fit but I have been holding off due to not having time to do it all, only covered about 2000 miles since the last update. So all I have really done is keep on top of cleaning it since it lives outside, oh and putting all chrome indicator bulbs in it for a cleaner look. The next 12 months will hopefully bring some more interesting updates as I have been looking at 3.6/3.8 conversions? Here's to another interesting 12 months of ownership! The time above I had taken all the wheels off to put wheel sealer on them. I snow foam/wash it every week with a hard wax top up every month or so, that's the problem with owning a black car that lives out in the dust by my house, it needs looking after- should have got a silver one that doesn't need so much attention Edited September 14, 2016 by GTP
GTP
Evening All! Haven't been on here for a long time, had an 'interesting' start to the year involving splitting with my girlfriend, moving house, starting a new job and general life B/S that has meant messing with the car or coming on here had gone on the back burner HOWEVER.......Things have still been done The car started to loose a little coolant so I got it on the ramp and it turned out to be a leaky N/S rad pipe O ring- easy fix you would think but it turned into a pain in the arse and I ended up replacing pretty much all the front end rad pipes inc cross over pipes and doing a 3rd rad install while I was there as I didn't want to be doing it all again for a LONG time so decided to future proof! I put the 3rd rad on twice as the 1st centre rad leaked straight out of the box but as you would expect, it started after I refitted the bumper), While It was there I fitted H&R roll bars & lowering springs along with new top mounts, bump stops, shocks, drop links etc. The car is driving lovely when I do get to use it and the springs, shocks, roll bars and Geo have transformed the ride and dialed out the understeer id get when throwing it at a round about or harder corner so it was all worth it in the end! Will sort some hosting out and upload pics soon Pete
