Does it work for LED as well? Edited March 27, 2019 by Cito
phil27
I'm not thinking those resistors are the best option given the heat and amount of plastic. Think I will look for other bulbs. Have you left the bulbs in with the error displaying?

Some thoughts: - I read somewhere that LED produce less heat than halogen bulbs (because of the wattage). Xenon produce more heats. -I thought that they produce these items with these plastic boxes, they should be safe. Yes, I left them on. The only thing annoying is the red sign and the fact that I have to confirm the error when I fire the engine.
Scott1967
Ditto I left them in too as I very rarely use the high beam I’ll fit the resistor or the decoder pas cito mentioned the decoder is in a plastic case so theoretically it cannot generate too much heat
Cito
Strangely enough, today I did not get the error message and all is working fine... 🤷♂️
phil27
Now tried both types of resistors neither worked for me. Going to look into alternative bulbs. Had to go back to standard for the high beams for now the error was annoying me to much. Shame as everything was matching nicely. Still happy with the ones that are working though 🙂
Cito
I’m sorry to hear that. Mom so pleased that my error has gone by itself though 😅 if you have got a chance, you could try to clear the error with the computer they use to code (sorry, I don’t remember the name of it😭). Cheers, Andrea
Scott1967
Unfortunately they didn’t work for me either gone back to the original high beam bulbs Scott
mike3105
I've got fully working high-beams but flickering when cold or starting dipped. What are people's choices when it comes to the best halogens? I've tried the Phillips racing vision (+150% ones) and they're OK. With the nighteyes I found they were improved reflection wise, but not actual throw/distance. Before i I did try the Philips you mentioned and I found them a good step forward versus the “standard” halogen, but I found the LED’s completely another world
Bushman
hi Cito. I believe that the 6000K or 6500K light frequency emitted by super white LEDs gets absorbed easier at night, the bluer the light, the shorter the reflective range picked up by our eyes. Tungsten Halogen is between 3000K and 4000K and is multi-frequency, it can be seen at night at longer reflective distances, think of the old KC Daylighters and Cibie Bi Oscars, yellow light but you could dazzle the moon with them.
