Popular Post Rob66
Thought I would say hello. I have been enjoying reading the useful info on here since buying my 987 s in Feb and thought it was time to sign up. I currently have a MK2 MR2 Rev3 and of course the Cayman S. I have only driven a few hundred miles so far and getting to grips with PDK and the Paddles. Car has done around 50k but has full OPC history and belonged to a close friend so I know it has been well looked after. I am a little OCD when it comes to looking after cars so will get a light machine polish when the weather allows and possibly Ceramic Coating. I did have a little panic yesterday, the car hadn't been driven for just over a week, and reading the manual I knew I would have to use the key to unlock the door but was greeted with a flat battery and 3 warning messages - the car had stood for a while last year so thought best bet was to buy a new battery. Started ok and cleared the faults using a thread I found on PCGB so all good. There was some water in the Battery Tray which I didn't expect 'in a Porsche' so removed any leaves and dried up puddle. I have a few other questions that I'll pop up soon. Look forward to getting to know you all. Cheers Rob
Daz
Welcome onboard Rob. Nice looking car. Might be worth getting a battery conditioner if car sits unused for a while.

Rob66
Thanks for the welcome guys. It's my local gym and normally a tennis court but in the winter they cover it so we have additional parking, which is handy. Thanks Daz yes think I'll pick one up,. I have one on the MR2 in the winter to trickle charge, it's a standard Halfords one which is great. Would you recommend one that plugs into the cigarette socket rather than the terminals for the Cayman? Daz
I use mine through cigarette socket. I know a few of the guys on here have installed permanent leads on battery so you can keep bonnet locked. My conditioner is the ctek. Got it through PGB who offer a discount.

Mavrik
Welcome! I use a NOCO Genius trickle charger/maintainer (with batt fly lead)... I also have a LiFePO4 lithium in my track bike & the NOCO works on ALL battery types... Edited March 20, 2019 by Mavrik
