aslan
Plugged a tyre compressor into the 12v socket in the armrest, lasted about 5 seconds and then stopped, no power. Tried again with the footwell socket and no luck. Presumably the fuse went for both outlets, but can they not cope with tyre compressor? not had this issue on previous cars. Uncle Dave
Should easily cope, was the car running? Was the tyre pump the Porsche one from the front boot or other? Have you tried changing the fuse with a new one and seeing how that goes, might have just been a fuse on the way out.
DKR_77
Should be no problem at all, change the fuse, try again and if it persists I'd reckon the pump is faulty. Try another pump if so and go from there. P.S. If you need a new pump the Porsche/Audi/VW are all the same just a different label, quite cheap on eBay. aslan
Changed the fuse and they are back powered, didn't risk the air compressor as had a long journey ahead so used one at the shell garage. It was a halfords compressor, not the Porsche one, so maybe I'll just use that.
Trickle
I had a dodgy compressor that blew my fuses on my last car, some of them are a bit crap. I'd stick to the Porsche one.
