Beanoir's Cayman R

So I've worked out what my window issue is.

The window rubber seal, inner edge has split on the end near the door shut and the window drags the rubber down inside with itself when you lower the window.  Consequently this jams it up and the window slows to a halt.  Not a common issue as far as I'm aware, never seen it on Cayman or Boxsters before.

I cant see any way of fixing it so it's probably going to have to go in to Paragon and have a new window seal fitted.  Not a huge issue as I want to get it in for a service soon anyway, but a bit annoying that it's failed at a youngish age and mileage and hasn't seen much in the way of wet weather, but hey ho.

At least you found the cause. Don't need to worry about something more sinister now.

How long have you been using an indy for servicing? Once out of warranty I'll seriously consider GCR in Leicester for mine.

My car is currently at Precision Porsche for its 6 year service.

I always think that the service you and the car receives at an independent specialist is better than a main dealer with people not caring for the cars.

PS, the car is also being retrofitted with the PSE :-)

I went to Precision Porsche for an coffee open day earlier in the year and really liked them. The hour or so drive, I thought was worth it.

Yes, I'm a fan of the indy.  I bought the R at Paragon and its been back a few times, had the boot rattle fixed, wheel alignment adjusted with the new wheel spacers and had my Carnewal exhaust fitted by them.  They are enthusiasts and I've no reason not to go back there even though it's a 90min journey.

My local OPC didn't want to sell me a car a few years back, so I can't imagine they'd be any more interested in servicing my R

Nice picture. What track is that? Were you driving on it or just visiting! Must get mine out on a track some time soon before winter arrives.

It was taken in the pit garage at Rockingham - but sadly I wasn't driving the R on track, just some new Cayman thing with a 4cyl engine...

Just swapped my original (dying) battery for a Bosch silver top, got it for a bargain price of £110 from Euro Car Parts.

New wiper blades, new headlight bulbs and good clean.

All ready for tomorrow :)
