Tidy 987.2 for sale

And could need quite a bit of paintwork. Or not. You'd be rolling the dice. I would be amazed if they would do a deal that included removing the wrap and rectifying anything underneath.

Maundrell have a basalt car with exactly the same spec (ext leather, bose, xenons) and miles for £1k less, so a bit of a no brainer if you were thinking about buying the purple car and taking the wrap off. Just buy this, it's cheaper and you don't have to worry about any horrors when the wrap comes off!

I'd have thought a wrap devalues a car not adds value, especially in a colour that will shrink the market pretty dramatically. But good luck to them!

If you like PDK, this everything-spec white 3.4S one is for sale, again. And I do mean everything, including ceramics and buckets.

Makes the MR Sports Car one look even more expensive than it already did.

It has clearly been lowered, though, which the seller is probably clueless about and you'd want to at least look into. At a guess it's on R springs. Think it's had about 90 owners, too, (slight exaggeration) seen it for sale several times over the years.

I hear you but i have already shared that black one with you and was deemed no good for you. But yes, that would be more sensible a buy over the purple, unless someone is jonesing for a purple cayman

it not far off having one owner per year that it has existed.

up close there are dings and dents.

the seat inserts are looking tired and poorly creased.

usually I wouldn't be bothered with numerous users but that particular one is getting a bit silly now.

despite the buckets and ceramics I prefer the MR Sports Car one for the factory aero kit, but I am sure this one will sell yet again! 😀

I’ll wash my mouth out for using the phrase but I love the stance of that. Much better than the safari spec of my 2.9 😅

Always a worry having tons of owners, though I have a mate that bought a mk7 Gti with about 11 owners and he’s had no real issues in 4 years

I think that could be this one, which sold this time last year: https://m.facebook.com/groups/161782937750200/permalink/831476254114195

Agreed. It wasn't my intention but this thread has become a place for any decent looking examples :)

I'm not posting for any one particular person just general nice examples.

I'm going to start another topic for 981's as it's actually a really good resource.

Blue one doesn't look terribly good spec to me, especially for the money. Same dealer that had the really nice silver one earlier in the year that was far higher spec but a fair bit cheaper. That one sold quickly, blue one has been hanging around.

Market a bit confusing right now. If you look at, say, 981 GT4s, advertised prices haven't really changed in the last 18 months. Nor Cayman Rs. 987.1 prices are only slightly up. But 987.2 prices are up a lot. So are 997.1 prices, funnily enough.

All the cars that sort of were in the low 20s, particularly 997.1 and 987.2, have really leapt. Difference with 997.1 is that there's lots of turn over - the cars are generally selling fast. The expensive 987.2 cars seem to be sticking. TBH, several of the more moderately priced ones aren't shifting either.

Unfortunately, seller of the car of red one I am interested in can't be bothered to take it for inspection (at my cost -  said I would meet him at the inspection venue and if inspection OK would pay him then and there to make it as easy as possible. To quote, he's 'not that fussed' about selling), so no immediate prospects!

Market continues to be confusing. Two very similar PDK-equipped cars, both from specialist dealers, both on 30-something thousand miles. One for £25k, one for £32k.

You don't normally get this kind of spread.

Wow that silver one is very pretty but at that price I can see it sitting around for a long time.

That one doesn't exactly appear to be priced to sell. No paddles or sports chrono and, even with those, I wouldn't necessarily consider it a £30k+ car. I do think that, with the warmer months just around the corner, we'll get a better picture of the market in the next few months.

Also interesting that the WBAC valuation / offer price for these cars hasn't changed since at least late last year.

Obviously WBAC quotes are the bottom-end / backstop, but they do directly reflect what the trade are paying for the cars at BAC auctions. It's not the absolute WBAC price that's interesting, but whether the price is going up or down. And the WBAC valuation hasn't moved over this period when traders in particular have been increasing their prices.

I put my car up as a part exchange yesterday against a GP3 mini and was offered £20k for it. My car is the silver Cayman S recently bought from Dovehouse.

Has the car gone? I would pay a significant amount more for it than that!

If it has gone, could I ask which dealer it has gone to? I may be able to intercept it before they dump it at auction...!
