WBAC valued my Exige at 21k and I sold it privately for 28.5k yet they valued our Evoque at 38k which is a grand less than we paid 2 years ago , again sold it on to a dealer for a little more.

Soup of the day

not a fan of the decals but with those removed it’s quite a nice one (considering how few and far between good ones seem to be coming up for sale this year, compared to previous years) and a fair price for the mileage.

That seems like a lot for a low-spec example although I really don't know what they are selling for right now! Hate the decals too...

Soup of the day. (although not a Gen2.)

This is how marketing works: make 20.000 cars, then take 700 of them and name them "1 of 700" (literally the same piece of metal whatsover) and then sell it to fools as special editions bla bla bla for £33k.....

Also, 700 is a high number anyway.......

Reasonable value in the current market. I'd worry about the decals. Surely it would be easier to sell with them off and if it's no problem taking them off...

Even if the trader just can't be arsed, doesn't exactly imply a lot of effort went into prep!

There are fairly low spec cars up for £30k right now! Admittedly not selling. Hard to know what they're actually selling for, though. WBAC valuation has come down twice this year, while if anything advertised prices at the top end have gone up. Very few cars appear to be selling. At least, hardly any ads have come down in recent months.

Maundrell reduced the price on this the other day:

Only by £500 and it still looks awfully expensive for the mileage, interesting anyway that they reduced the price a bit. They've had it quite a while.

Mental money, nice Orange S Sports were going for mid £20's in 2020....and they were orange so a bit special.

I think the S has a map that extracts another whopping 5hp or something...

Think it’s 8hp claimed. 303PS instead of 295PS. If the headers are the same as the S, which I think they are, even that is a bit suspect as the standard 3.4 headers are so very bad…

The black looks kinda cool with the black Cayman S script. Interestingly priced, I think £25k might be realistic.

They have added a photo now.....oddly it has no script though?

Does that say £615 tax a year 😬

yep the S Sport emissions puts it in a higher tax bracket. I wonder if that has caught anyone out before after purchasing one. It is quite a hike in road tax isn't it.

Still very thin on the ground this year on Gen 2S's.

I put it down to last years frenzy and that more are now being kept as keepers - and for those that don't plan it to be  keeper, it'll be at least a year of ownership, which could be why the good ones just aren't coming up for sale this year like they were. Ditto on R's too.

That's crazy money for tax, i knew the 06-08 3.4s were a higher tax but not THAT high.

I know it's not a massive problem in the grand scheme. It's more an annoyance as their are so many winners and losers in uk road tax.

I pay zero attention to WBAC value on specialist cars like Porsches, it's just not their market. They'll bite your hand off for a low mileage 5 year old fiesta but they're not interested in a well maintained Porsche, those aren't what sell at auctions to general car traders

I think you'll be surprised just how much WBAC gives over OPC values. From following threads on PistonHeads many Porsche owners have sold with WBAC as a far better result than a dealer offers. They offer a very tidy sum for my R, way higher than I would expect.

The perception from their Branding and advertising is they are just into run of the mill cars but I have read threads even with McLaren, Lambo and Ferrari owners getting way way more from WBAC than anywhere else. You'd be surprised.

Not actually correct. It varies wildly. But sometimes WBAC can be the best bet for selling to trade (private sale is a different matter). Many traders, in any case, will simply give you the WBAC price. But I know of cars like 996 GT3s going to WBAC for as much as you'd get privately. I sold a Porsche to WBAC a few years ago and got pretty much what I would have privately. That's not always the case, not even usually, but it sometimes can be.

For a period last year WBAC was quoting very high on 987s to the point where you'd only realistically get a little more privately. Their offers have come down since. But it's not true that they're not interested in these cars. It all depends on what they have been achieving at BAC auctions. If a few sell for quite high prices that's reflected in the WBAC offer and suddenly their offer can be remarkably attractive.

Don't think it's got PASM or xenons. Definitely no Bose. Guessing no extended leather given the spec is generally a bit thin... Given the spec, looks a lot of coin to me, even with the mileage.

Yup. Sometimes they really pay too much. I think it's all down to recent hammer prices at BAC and their algorithms, which sometimes go a bit wrong and they end up paying too much. But they get through so many cars, it probably doesn't matter. They make money on the vast, vat majority, so the odd one where they overpay for something specialist isn't going to hurt much.

Always worth checking WBAC price before you sell. Takes about two minutes to get a price and occasionally it'll be surprisingly good.
