M/bikertom Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Can anyone remmend best car cover to use. Doesn't need to be waterproof as only using as a dust cover. Thanks
Guest Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I've seen the Hamilton Classic covers at car shows, they like good and offer a range of different grades and fits. I have a lightweight semi-fitted indoor cover but only use it occasionally as I don't like putting it on the car if I think there may be dirt/grit on the car surface which could scratch the paint.
Madmoggy Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 replied on the other thread as I hadn't seen this one Im with twopointnine here, I'm not a big fan of them and would rather the dust sat on the car then was safely removed. I don't have one, and mine sits outside in all weathers

I don't have one, and mine sits outside in all weathers Its not just dust though, you get all sorts, dead insects, spider poo (seriously), sap from wooden trusses etc etc. All my cars have covers in the garage to protect from this and also scratches etc.

I have to admit I would never have thought of spider poo as a paint threat, but Im happy to believe it is As I said I was curious as I dont have a garage so no frame of reference. I suppose it also depends on how often the car is used
Red Square Images Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Outdoor covers not a great idea. Indoor covers? I use Porsche's fitted model Cheap too.

Bushman Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 I have recently bought a fitted car cover for mine. its a 4 layer but lightweight indoor/outdoor cover with elasticated skirts and mirror pockets and comes in a custom zipped bag. bought from ebay from Car Covers UK for £45. its a bloody tight fit and easier with two people to fit but once its on, its on. will still fit with my new rear spoiler on too, ( similar to Jacquamond but much cheaper). I reckon its well worth the money. as for spider poo. this has ruined my boat, stained the white gelcoat all over the place with little brown spots that wont polish out. its a common problem but has cost me thousands in devaluation. eats through paint and bare aluminium too.
el_rapido Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I have a Specialised Cover for my CR, an indoor cover tailor made for the model. I'd highly recommend it, had it for years. Obviously only fit it when the car is absolutely clean to avoid scratches.
Caymanr Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 How do you think a Specialised car cover compares to the OEM Porsche one?

I can't comment on the OEM Porsche cover as I haven't used one, but the Specialised cover (indoor cover) is very good. Fits like a glove, and has a reasonably soft inner material. It's only very thin though as it is an indoor cover, but that means that you can fold it very compactly in its bag and store it away when not in use. Pic below, also can have it made without any Porsche labels for stealth mode.
