West Coast Custom's Cayman based Porsche 356

Title: West Coast Custom's Cayman based Porsche 356

Take a closer look at this 356, nothing odd? Look again.

Its looks like a 356, but just a bit wider, and much bigger wheels and a then there's that hump right behind the passenger seat...

It's a 356 body that's been lengthened and widened to fit over a 987 Cayman chassis. Created by the world renowned West Coast Customs, and it's featured on this week's episode of Jay Leno's Garage.

Ryan Friedlinghaus, the CEO of West Coast Customs, told Leno it took around eight months to build, and no expense was spared. All the glass had to be custom-made for this car and the bodywork is all steel.  A great job by the looks and all without any fibreglass, to top it off (pun intended) it has a removable hard roof!

  • Suspension options

Have been looking to upgrade my suspension for a while but keep putting it off due to being worried i may regret my choice for the sizeable outlay I'm happyish with the ride quality/handling for the road of the std set up but not so much the looks. Can anyone with first hand experience help. Choices are Bilstein B12 which comes with h & r springs - ride height may be too low from images Ive seen and much stiffer than oem - cost £1400 B4 shocks with lowering springs - safe opti

    Center Wheel Cap Replacements

This is just an FYI, for anyone else in the same position.   My centre caps were in a very sorry state, and I'd been meaning to try and do something to make them look a bit more acceptable for a while.  I noticed the other day that one had turned from red to black on the crest for some reason so that forced me into action and I decided to try and get replacements.  From OPC, I believe they are around £150 ish for a set of 4 - which seemed extortionate to me - so I looked for aftermarke

    Tidy 987.2 for sale

Saw this in the CABO UK Facebook group just now and thought it looked a lot tidier than most at that price if there's anyone out there looking.

    Porsche 987.1 Sport Mode Software

Hello! I have a 2007 Cayman S but it does not have the Sports button on the dashboard.  I want more throttle response and sports feel from the car. What's the best update/upgrade I can do? Any advise.  I can see Sun Coast Parts in the USA sells this. Do you know if anyone in the UK does this fitting?  https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/9X7SM.html?Category_Code=newproductpage   Thanks you!

  • Porsche Myths Busted: Car Insurance & N-rated Tyres

There will be many eyes rolling at the title I'm sure and much has been written on many an internet forum on the topic of N-rated tyres.   But I'm not here to enter the murky depths of whether an N-rated tyre has a different rubber compound to it's non-rated equivalent, nor am I going to make any claims as to the performance differences and whether by not using N-rated tyres you will find yourself in a ditch one day.     Today, I'm focussing on something more specific, and answering th
