Strange noise form front nearside corner

Recommended Posts

Hello
I took my  2009 cayman S pdk for her first long drive today , upon arriving  home  after a hours drive  on country roads and was faultless ,  i did my usual  five or so min cool down  idle as I open'd  the garage doors etc  and coming back to the car a sound like a air compressor started coming from the nearside front  , stopped after around 20-30 seconds  but as I had never heard it before it has me concerned , any ideas ??
thanks in advance

Completely normal, there is a fan to cool the engine bay that kicks in at a set temperature. If the car has had a good drive it will often go a few mins after switch off to remove the excess heat (possibly to avoid vapour locks? Or heat soak damaging electronics?) I'd be worried if you'd never heard it

see part 15....
