Water pump failure on track

Hi there!

Had the worst bit of luck on the weekend and my water pump decided to fail on me 1 hour into my track day. I managed to source a new pump and get it fitted to drive home... the problem was the new water pump was provided by euro car parts!

My question is.. has anyone ever heard/experienced the brand 'KWP' water pumps before? Is it worth getting this brand new pump replaced for a genuine Porsche one or is KWP an OE quality product

the car is a cayman s 987.1

thankyou

Although I have no personal experience of the KWP brand of waterpump, I think it'll put your mind at rest if you have a quick search on Google. Like you, I too would have reservatons over a non OEM part such as a waterpump but by all accounts it's a decent bit of kit. Have a quick look and let us know what you think.

Thanks for the replies.

I had done a bit of research when i got back and KWP doesnt sound too bad according to some peoples reviews.. some even say they are oem quality pump

The only thing worrying me is euro car parts have the option for a KWP pump or an oem quality one for an extra £100! (Didnt have them in stock on the day otherwise id have got it) This made me think the KWP must be a cheap made one

i will ask porsche to have a look at the pump and what they think when it goes in next month... but i worry they will say it needs replacing just for the money :4fvgdaq_th:

In your position I'd be phoning an Indy specialist, as any OPC "have" to say you must fit the Porsche part.

Revolution Porsche (Yorkshire) seem to get great reviews, so I'd be talking to them.
