Jochen Klinsmann
Hi Guys Im thinking of changing the steering wheel in the Cayman as I personally think mine looks a bit dated, I don't want to go the official Porsche route due to the crazy expense, any advice at all or pointers, what have others done? Thanks for reading guys and any advice
Julian987
The Momo Prototipo is a popular option....but you forgo the airbag. Have you considered that one though?
Jochen Klinsmann
Hi Julian, I was wondering about the airbag, if I keep the car I'm looking at doing a major revamp to the interior, Might actually do away with the Alcantara like you say the touch points can look worn, I think I'm inclined to agree, the Alcantara cleaner does work very well however to restore the nap of the Alcantara
Julian987
if you want to retain the airbag then I think the Porsche SPORT DESIGN Steering Wheel would work for your (I assume from your profile) 987.1 In fact with some mods even the latest style would fit as per this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/987-forum/1131673-interior-upgrades-to-my-987-1-cayman-s.html What other interior upgrades you going for? I once saw someone had repainted the bezel of the 987.1 PCM from the magpie silver colour to a more subtler dark grey/black and it looked really good. Would love to hear of your full interior plans. I assume one has to be the horn, but leaves another free. Could be interesting?! Looks amazing!
