Minimum Stereo Volume - too loud

Hi all,

 

I just picked up a 2011 987 S - what an amazing car!   I have noticed some oddities though - one being the minimum volume on the stock stereo is a bit too loud.  rotating the knob to one 'less' and no sound at all.  Is that normal?  It seems quite odd to me.

If it’s the minimum volume, then one less should be silent shouldn’t it, regardless of whether it’s too loud or not?

That's not what I'm saying.. I'll rephrase the question if that helps. Has anyone noticed that the lowest volume is quite loud on a 987.2 with stock (non-bose) stereo?

Yes, totally agree. I have a gen 2 non Bose and have always had that, the minimum volume is still too loud. 
 

have never looked properly into it, will likely change to a unit with CarPlay and DAB

There are +/- gain controls for other inputs - Aux/CD so this might be a factor.  The idea is not to have a large volume jump between tuner/CD/AUX/Bluetooth sources, depending on your source this might be it.

 

Not near the car but from memory this is buried somewhere in settings/options if you poke around the menus.
