Which Lightbulbs

Recommended Posts

It's time to replace my standard lightbulbs, was just wondering what brands/model others tend to favour in their Cayman?  They're not the best headlights in the 987 so may opt for something swanky to try and improve things.

I upgraded the standard halogen H7 dipped beam bulbs with an HID kit which I managed to install within the headlight unit (no drilling holes for wires to pass through) from here:

I also upgraded the rear numberplate light units with these:

I can vouch for both products and the service of HIDS-Direct (not on commission :tongueanimated:).

Hope this helps,

Greg.

If you don't go down the HID route that Greg suggests, on most cars the bulb of choice seems to be the Osram Nightbreaker. A brighter and whiter light although they don't usually last quite as long.

What are your thoughts on the HID retrofit, when compared with the original halogen lights Greg?

Night and day, no pun intended...

They are visually pleasing when viewing the car from outside too - freshens up the front from that dated yellow tinge!

Was the installation relatively straightforward? Quite keen to freshen up the front of mine...
