Car Detailing Products at The Piston Works

Title: Car Detailing Products at The Piston Works

Have you ever noticed that online shops selling car detailing products are rather a clinical affair, unusually aimed squarely at those more interested in the process than the vehicle itself.  Well, we're glad to say those days are gone, no longer does the petrolhead find themselves scratching their head wondering the difference between a citrus pre-cleaner and an all purpose cleaner or 'APC'.

Ladies and Gentleman, we introduce The Piston Works Emporium, a brick and mortar chain of stores and online shop dedicated to car detailing and car cleaning products chosen for their performance and practicality aimed squarely at car enthusiasts.  A carefully chosen collection of high quality car cleaning products and detailing brands with clear jargon free explanations of their use and application.

The Piston Works has chosen brands such as Bilt Hamber, ValetPRO, Chemical Guys and Nanolex that are well known for their no-nonsense approach to designing and producing award winning products.  Other brands have been introduced that build on their ethos of not stacking the shelves with white labeled products, but choosing UK brands aimed at making products that simply work and are a pleasure to use.  Brands such as Stjarnagloss and Angelwax

Because The Piston Works Emporium is a brick and mortar store, they are always on hand to speak to you in person.  A visit to the Emporium is a definite must, the comfortable fireside chairs and car related videos playing to entice you in before pursuing the shelves beautifully stocked with all of the car cleaning products clearly on display and accessible, be that accessories such as microfibre towels, wash mitts or polishing pads.  The guys at the Emporium will guide you through how to chose your products with your requirements in mind, whether you're a Porsche Cayman owner or indeed anything from a classic E-Type Jaguar to a brand new Ford Focus.  The Piston Works will ensure you're looked after and enjoy your experience, and one this is for sure, you certainly don't get the same level of service in Halfords!

Remember these guys next time you are stocking up on your Bilt Hamber Snow Foam, Angelwax H2GO or your ValetPRO Bilberry Wheel Cleaner

  • Tidy 987.2 for sale

Saw this in the CABO UK Facebook group just now and thought it looked a lot tidier than most at that price if there's anyone out there looking.

    DK Valvtronic

HI everyone, I have recently fitted a DK Valvtronc exhaust and a pair of K&N filters. The car is now undrivable in both valve open or closed above 2000rpm so thats 70mph. The resonance inside the car is unreal. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Is there a fix? I mean the exhaust was £1000 and the fitting another £500 as they hard wired it in

Help me convince my friend a 3.4 Cayman gen 2 is a better decision than a Z4. Any takers?

My good pal Ash (on this forum) is having a real debate with himself over whether he should thing with his head (Z4, cheaper, daily territory and still fun) or his heart – a Porsche Cayman 3.4 S.   Key questions are:   Is it a relatively safe investment?    Anyone who also owned a Z4…main takeaways?    Is it worth stretching to a 3.4 S over a 2.9 or gen 1 2.7?    Thanks in advance.

    Cayman Advise

Hi All Im considering a Cayman toward the end of the year and have a budget of £20-£25k. I always said I’d buy myself a full fat 911 in 997 form for my 50th but think they are out of reach price wise and the Cayman represents better value to me. I think the car for me would be a 987.2 2.9 engined car with a manual gearbox. I’ve always maintained my own cars and the Porsche would be no different, it would only be used on weekends and do possibly a maximum of 3000 miles a year.

Seen a nice 981 for sale, add it in here

With the 987.2 thread becoming a good resourceful bit of reading i thought it worry starting a 981 one.    Seen a nice car for sale you think it's good value,  well specced or just something different add it here.    Always nice to discuss and what is one person's rubbish is another person's treasure.

  • Porsche Myths Busted: Car Insurance & N-rated Tyres

There will be many eyes rolling at the title I'm sure and much has been written on many an internet forum on the topic of N-rated tyres.   But I'm not here to enter the murky depths of whether an N-rated tyre has a different rubber compound to it's non-rated equivalent, nor am I going to make any claims as to the performance differences and whether by not using N-rated tyres you will find yourself in a ditch one day.     Today, I'm focussing on something more specific, and answering th
