Jim O'Hara
hi all ive had a couple of 911's a few years ago, and now considering a Gen 1 2.7 manual ive actually seen a car that sounds pretty good as follows and was wondering about peoples opinions - 2008 silver, with 18" S wheels from Factory twin tip polished exhaust from factory Xenons from factory Leather sports wheel from factory Heated std seats from factory top tint screen from factory stainless side sill plates from factory NO BOSE no other buttons apart from the std PSM car does look pretty immaculate, but i haven't driven it yet 2 owners from new, sitting at 83k 1st service was Official Porsche, then 2 x Oil changes at BOSCH service centre, then 2 x other services at Porsche specialist in glasgow ive checked and it hasn't had a clutch or the rads replaced its from an independent UK garage (non specialist) who bought it from the local Official Porsche Centre and is available at £12k - he has had it 6 months and it started at £14k looking in the classifieds, it seems to be priced pretty well thoughts??? many thanks Edited September 1, 2018 by Jim O'Hara
PMGPete
If it all checks out that's not a badly priced car. If it's a toy you won't miss the Bose. I hd out for a car with Bose/Nav and sports chronograph. I rarely even have the radio on,to busy listening to flat 6 FM!
Jim O'Hara
pete, i was thinking on holding out for a car with all the toys, but on the 2.7, they are mainly standard not worried about the BOSE, would have liked PASM etc, but as i say, VERY hard to find and im avoiding the 3.4 for obvious reasons
PMGPete
I did the exact same thing and don't regret it at all. My 2.7 honestly is a joy to drive and I much prefer it over my 996 I had previously

phil27
Don’t let all the stories put you off a 3.4 there are good ones out there just do your homework before buying although I’d say that applys to all cars. Equally nothing wrong with a 2.7 either if that’s what you fancy I would certainly have not been disappointed if I had purchased the one I test drove. Sounds like a nice car if it checks out. I would have liked xenons on mine that’s one option I do miss on mine.

I did mine has - PASM - 19's - sports seats - full leather (dash etc ) - Nav & Bose - sports wheel - sports chrono With the experience I have now the seats, leather and wheel are the things in that last I like the most. I had a horrific experience with the 3.4 in my 996 and it was a Hartech rebuilt car. The exhaust and intakes on mine really loosen the 2.7 up
Mavrik
I would miss the extra 50+ bhp that's why I specifically went for a 3.4S ... If you know what you're looking at there is no reason to steer clear of the S model 987.1 imo...

Rich_S
I've got SPP in my car and really like it, don't regret not going for BOSE! I've also got PASM and SC and i'd rate SC higher than PASM, In sport more I enjoy the extra throttle response and backed off PSM more than the harsh ride. Mines a 2.7 too
