Forum Appearance

Compared to other forums I follow, PistonHeads being one of them, the visual display of the Cayman Owners Club is not so good - white space and spacing between lines of text seems to be too much. I view the forums on a Windows 7 laptop using Firefox 44.0.2.

For instance when viewing the home page the top half of my screen is filled with the club banner etc and I can only see headings for Forum Announcements and Forum Feedback before having to scroll down to see the rest.

I tried the 'Edit Appearance' button but the changes I made didn't appear to take effect when I clicked save.

Is this a case of user error? Should there be something I can do to make the pages more compact so that I can see more on the screen?

Thanks.

A.

I'll take a look at this later, I can shrink the header a bit but not a great deal and certainly not enough to give you more real estate on screen.

I may have another trick up my sleeve for you though, I'll report back later

I've changed a couple of things.

1) The header on the normal theme has ben shrunk, but as I said above, it can only be by about 70px, so it may not give you much more space.  So;

2) If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see 'Theme' - here you can select a different theme, try the standard theme and it should give you the plain vanilla layout of the forum software

Hope that helps?

Yes Uncle Dave you're right, and they range from :hijacked: to :tongueanimated: .

I suppose it's because I'm an oldie which was why I was looking for simpler more basic emoticons :-) , I'm not really sure when I should use some of the current ones and fear I could end up using an inappropriate emoticon and give the wrong impression :Smilies_Sad_Cry:.
