Stitch colour check - second opinion

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have the chance to purchase the rare stitched leather steering column and the side guards that came from a 997 Turbo.

Hard to tell exactly if the stitch colour is the same. I think it is, and seeing beyond the differences in lighting between pics of my stitch on the left side and the potential purchases on the right side, could you let me know your opinion if you feel the colour is the same. It is deceiving. Any thoughts much appreciated.

Could you check the higher res ones please as they are less compressed.

Thank you

Stitching colour aside, are you sure it’s the same type of leather?

Exclusive option included different leather options, including smooth non-grained.  It looks quite different to the bog standard leather.

Oh my gosh! I hadn’t thought of that! nor noticed as was squarely focussed on the stitch. Yep it doesn’t match does it by the looks of it. I’ll see if seller can confirm.

thank you for your review!

I heard back and the leather is napa leather. Does that help or was it all napa leather used at the time regardless of texture of it?

nappa leather can be smooth or grained, so no it doesn’t help unfortunately.  Can the seller just take a more detailed photo, it’s not difficult
