cold start idle

09 2.9 with 40 K on it........the cold idle goes up to almost 2 k and then drops and almost stalls for less than 60 seconds...........i am thinking throttle body needs a look at to see if its dirty/coked up. No other issues, hot idle is very smooth

Sounds like the throttle body is stuck open and the ECU Is lowering IACV duty cycle to reduce the engine RPM, but almost stalls it, then increases back to compensate and you have your hunting idle.  The IACV itself could be faulty, or is idle all ECU controlled via DBW?  I'm not certain.

I was also thinking a vacuum leak but seems unlikely given that warm idle is OK.
