Gingybreadman
Morning Sean, In what way won't they work? I've taken a look through the manual and the only thing I see is the bulb replacement list and then says about the manual adjustment behind the lining. Interested in this as I've just ordered replacements for the standards, however I've opted for the Bi-Xenons instead. Dan
Sean C
Hi Dan, Not sure if I explained this clearly, as I am slightly confused myself, lol, I have complete changed the full headlight unit for this one 98763117050 - my original headlight only took the standard H7 bulb, The new unit - has the motors inside for directional movement and the ballast box, Do you know if I need these new unit coded to the car in order for the directional lighting to work etc? Thank you Sean
Gingybreadman
This is the first I've heard of this honestly buddy, I've just sent a query to Eurospares in regards to if this would need to be coded, will let you know what they come back with should I get a response. Were there any other wiring looms other than the original light cabling? would need to connect the motor somehow for it to make any changes. Hope someone else can assist and help you more than I! Cheers, Dan

You have to change the wiring harnesses too.

All Xenon units had that headlight washer element - impossible to get it without, so I think the two work in tandem with one another. That said, I'd be interested in doing this if its not a faff and no need having to drill the body to fit those washer units.
Alan W
As far as I am aware Xenon headlights must have the washers fitted or they will fail an MOT. I think a dirty Xenon headlight can blind oncoming traffic and hence why the washers are fitted to keep the headlights clean in dirty weather. Cornholio
I would be very surprised if it does not need to be coded at the very least. I fitted a cruise control stalk to mine the other day, even something as simple as that requires to be coded. There could well be more to it than that though, others have mentioned a few things. also the light switch itself is different, the Bi-Xenon light switch has no front fog light on it. You may be better asking on some of the US forums, they seem to modify there cars quite a bit. Just bear in mind there could be some differences between US and UK spec. I suspect there may be a lot more to it than just changing the light units though, self levelling, the washer unit, light switch etc. Another option would be to call a good indie place, Parrs were very helpful before I bought mine, maybe give them or a close by indie a call. Anyway, good luck with it, if it doesn't work out I guess you can resell the lights.
MartinF6
You can't just whack in the Xenon units, as you have found. You'll need a lot more than coding. There are sensors on the suspension control arms, for instance, that are required to generate the data for the headlight levelling. Then there's the steering data, that's got to get to the headlight unit. Then there's the headlight washers. You'll almost certainly need some new wiring etc. Whole thing will be megabucks.I'd say forget it, you are far better off modifying your original headlight units with new bulbs - LED / xenon etc - than trying to fit the factory PDLS units. Never going to happen in practice. MOT tester would have to remove the light unit pull the bulbs to confirm what bulb type is fitted. They absolutely do not do that. If your headlights turn on and the beam pattern compliant, the car will pass.
