West Coast Custom's Cayman based Porsche 356

Title: West Coast Custom's Cayman based Porsche 356

Take a closer look at this 356, nothing odd? Look again.

Its looks like a 356, but just a bit wider, and much bigger wheels and a then there's that hump right behind the passenger seat...

It's a 356 body that's been lengthened and widened to fit over a 987 Cayman chassis. Created by the world renowned West Coast Customs, and it's featured on this week's episode of Jay Leno's Garage.

Ryan Friedlinghaus, the CEO of West Coast Customs, told Leno it took around eight months to build, and no expense was spared. All the glass had to be custom-made for this car and the bodywork is all steel.  A great job by the looks and all without any fibreglass, to top it off (pun intended) it has a removable hard roof!

OE brake discs - who makes them?

Who makes the OE Porsche brake discs? I'm looking at changing the front ones on my 987.1S. I believe they are 318mm. Do I have to go to my OPC to get them?

Several porsches, but none wave back...

Having waved like I'm marshalling a Hercules transporter into land and grinned like a Cheshire Cat at any (not just Caymans) Porsche that I pass on the roads in Bucks, all to not even the feigntest acknowledgement of my 'same marque' road etiquette I have drawn a conclusion that other Porsche drivers are either:   1) Ignorant / rude / snobbish 2) Too cool to wave back 3) Myopic 4) Enjoying their drive so much and gripping their wheel so fiercely they just don't notice me

    Steering Wheel Change Issue

Hi all,    Over the past few days I have changed my steering wheel from a 987.1 multi-function to a 997.2 multi-function.   On the new wheel the multi-function buttons don't appear to be working, although they light up and the horn works.    Problem: Not recognised any of the multi-function buttons have been pushed/rolled   Checked: -Orange wire connector behind airbag -Signle (earth) wire on airbag   Using: Connects2 CTSPO005

    Swapping my 987.2cs for a 981 - S or GTS

I'm thinking of swapping my 2010 27k mile old version for a 981  but can't make my mind up whether to plump for a GTS or the S.   WBAC value my 987.2 the same as I bought it for 12 months ago at £25k, however they value a GTS at £38k with 45k miles and £34k for a 981.S.   All the GTS's I see for sale are at the £46k price bracket whilst the 981 S versions are only about £3k cheaper. Not sure if I should buy at the moment as I really don't want to suffer massive depreciation i

  • Porsche Myths Busted: Car Insurance & N-rated Tyres

There will be many eyes rolling at the title I'm sure and much has been written on many an internet forum on the topic of N-rated tyres.   But I'm not here to enter the murky depths of whether an N-rated tyre has a different rubber compound to it's non-rated equivalent, nor am I going to make any claims as to the performance differences and whether by not using N-rated tyres you will find yourself in a ditch one day.     Today, I'm focussing on something more specific, and answering th
