duncan
All, I have a 2010 987.2c 2.9 I'm going through the process of trying to win space to mount a spare wheel & tyre. To access the tyre sealant, compressor, etc. the mounting panel holding them has to be removed. Protruding from the now exposed bulkhead are the threaded male ends of two coarse speed bolts each with a rubber sleeve protecting them. Why are those mountings there and what do they do? Cheers, Duncan
Founder Beanoir™ Posted November 16, 2017 Founder Share Posted November 16, 2017 are they right at the bottom near the floor, if so are they the locating pins for the cover? A photo might help people provide advice though if you can?
duncan
Cheers I’ll take some photos. BUT, No, not the two studs on the floor. They are midway up the lower panel and protrude into the central trapezoidal void in the panel that holds the compressor & sealant.
Bushman
I believe these studs are for the factory option Bose sound plus stereo amplifier that is mounted on the frunk firewall behind the tool panel
duncan
The 'offending' screws, each with a protective sleeve, exposed when the sealant, compressor panel unclipped.
Founder Beanoir™ Posted November 18, 2017 Founder Share Posted November 18, 2017 Yes ok, so they are the mounting bolts for the Bose amplifier (if specced) - see below
