I don't want to take it out until really but I'd like to know what you can fit in its place... I thought the sound system plus amp was in the front boot compartment, it is in mine
Mavrik
@Porsched eggs I believe the ASK Amp is mounted in the "frunk" behind the thumb panel where the "tool kit" is situated. You can fit an active sub under the passenger seat!
mike3105
The optical cables are pre-wiring for a CD changer in the boot, and for the screen in the dials to display the current track. Had a s**t-myself moment too when fitting my head unit.
Porsched eggs
Mine is definitely under the seat, there is a box of tricks in the front compartment but thats the controller for the dynamic headlights on my car.

Ok Mike3105, so optical inputs not required in my case then ( no cd changer in boot) no need to connect the optical inputs to the MOST adapter then to Dynavin etc.
Popular Post Maxheadroom
Spent the weekend fitting head unit and after having a quick play with the head unit I can say that the sound quality is better than the original sound system plus unit but not by far, so the answer to the original title of this post is YES, the original Porsche speakers definitely need to be changed. So for the short term and easiest fix I’ll probably go down @Mavrik route to fit sub under seat ( thanks or info Mavrik ). Later on in the year I’ll look into changing out speakers and possibly cables as well. Thanks guys for all your input, cheers.
