Not sure TBH, but front bumpers are commonly repainted due to stone chips, so likely it has been painted at some point.

I knew where the blue one had come from so was confident it was a 'good one'. Should have just bought it I spose. Dithering again! Is Red is your colour and you are not fussed with the non-S, then check this out for 'Immaculate' https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/12002592

I imagine the colour is a key thing that draws you to that, which is understandable as it is lovely...but for a few £2K more, if silver if your thing, considering the extra spec and lower mileage for a few thou I would throw this into your mix too https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11936045 Hi Stu. My apologies if, in this long thread, I've gotten your requirements wrong, but I had the impression that your were looking for a PDK with around £26k to spend. If so, have you considered a Black Edition at all? I looked at this one having opened myself up to the possibility of PDK instead of the manual that I had long been looking for. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1329881 It was in great order visually; two light scratches on the NS wing and some moderate but discrete kerbing on the wheels were the only faults. It had full dealer/specialist hitsory, new Michelins and pads all round. The seller is an elderly gent who has taken great care of it. Had it been a manual, it would have been coming home with me! There was only a little movement on price (we kind of agreed a figure before I drive up to see it) so it may still be a little more than you want to spend but the Black Editions have a very good base spec and obviously that R engine and setup. Hi Been away so just caught up with the thread. Thanks for the suggestions. In answer to them... great cars, but black and red aren't my cup of tea I'm afraid. Grey and the blue are my preferred colours. Narrowing down my options I know! Cheers, Stuart.

Popular Post Stumac62
Hi guys. Update... Eventually went for a private sale 981, 63 plate, 47k miles, manual, boxster S alloys, metallic brown with the luxor beige interior. Totally opposite to my original plan! The price of this one was not much more than a lot of the 2011-2012 987's out there at the moment. Very, very pleased with it. Its pristine inside and out and drives great. It makes me smile every day. Thank you for all the input/advice from you guys. Cheers, Stu.

Matt_Chaps
Hey guys, it’s been a long time since I posted in this thread – sorry for the radio silence. Thought I’d give an update! Since I bought the car, I’ve had some work done and wanted to show the results. Firstly, the PS cable split and spewed fluid all over my garage so I had to get that replaced – £400 for the pleasure, one month into ownership! But then I took her in for some TLC. The right lower suspension arm was creaking like a wooden door so I had both replaced new and she is blissfully quiet over bumps now and firm on the twisties. I then got the 19” design alloys refurbed and sprayed gloss black, new coloured crest centre caps, the vents gloss black and the headlights refurbed. It looks so much better, IMHO. Pics attached before and after. Lastly, this is purely curiosity…if I was to sell up, how much do you think she’d be worth now? Cayman S 3.4, 83,000 miles, sports seats, heated seats, 19” rims, extended leather interior, recent MOT passed this month. Next would be an exhaust and potentially lowering it. Good job! as to value, hard to say, but everything decent seems to be starting with a 3 these days.
