Clutch stuck down

Is the pedal floppy or does it return when you pull it up?  If the pedal is floppy then the return spring/mechanism is broken.  Likely a hydraulic issue otherwise.

The pedal is flat to the floor. You can pull it back into position but it sinks straight down again as soon as you press it again. Apologies for the delay; waited 6 hours roadside whilst the RAC "tried" to find somebody to rescue me. Facing a night in a country lane layby, I arranged my own recovery. Should be off to Cotswold Porsche tomorrow 😥

Slave cylinder had leaked all of it's fluid. That's been replaced although a new clutch, along with slave cylinder had been fitted only 2500 miles ago (2018). The specialist is a bit stumped as to why it would have failed so soon so we're just left hoping that it was a freak premature failure.

take the old slave apart ,it's probably got pitting in the bore ........was it new or rebuilt slave?

The failed slave was new with the clutch in 2018 but only 2500 miles ago. I'll enquire as to whether there were any visible signs of concern.
