Warning - Brake discs from Euro Car Parts on eBay - Sebro listing

Hi guys

Heads up that if you buy the "front brake disc kit" from ECP on eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295467393628 or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295467393612) - you will literally get two left or two right discs.  You will not get a left and right.  I went for it as it was listed a bit cheaper than both ECP and CP4L's direct websites.  eBay also had a 10% discount on so it was a no brainer.  I figured it's listed as a "front brake disc kit" with "Placement on Vehicle: Front,Right,Left" and would be a left and right disc, just being listed with the respective left or right disc part numbers.  Nope.

You're much better off to buy on the website and suck up the price difference!  Nobody on Earth is going to want two of the same side; no idea why they listed it this way.  Alas, I contacted them about it a week ago and they still haven't bothered to change it.

Separate note: I got the caliper bolts direct from the OPC as they were actually cheaper than places like Design 911, Type 911, etc..  They even posted them to me for free and still less than the usual suspects.  They were £20.69 all in.

That's mad, but thanks for the heads up!

On a separate rotor related note - has anyone tried the cheaper non-directional brembo rotors? (PVT Plus) They too are listed as OE and have a porsche part number. Claim to be more resistant to thermal cracks so wondering if they might be better on track as well as cheaper.

These are £89 each once you add VAT on?  The Sebro discs are £73 or so.

Yeah in this case you're absolutely right. When I look on autodoc though, by my assessment the brembos tend to be a bit cheaper than the sebros on average so I'm taking that as a proxy for the wider market. The above is deffo a good price for the sebros 👍

Think I'm really interested to hear if anyone has any real world feedback on Brembo's claim of a 40% improvement in resisting thermal cracks (compared to what exactly is unclear).

Ah, I hadn't checked them on other sites.

It would have been interesting to try them out as my discs cracked near the drilled holes, which is why I replaced them.  Got the Sebros on now so a little too late, unfortunately!
