Michelin PS2 XL tyres or not?

My cayman needs new front tyres, going for PS2's and I have 17" wheels.  For the 205/55/17 size they show XL and standard load rated tyres.  Both are N rated (which I need for warranty).  Which ones do I want?  The XL's are available for a slightly lower price.

What does the handbook say?  I don't seem to remember ever fitting XL tyres to my Porsches..  

 

All the XL means is that the tyre is more reinforced than the standard (non-XL) tyre to allow you to run higher tyre pressures which you'll need if you are loading the car up with loads of heavy stuff.  Its not, IMO, really applicable for the majority of Cayman owners.

yes that's  what I thought, can't see why I would want XL, just seems odd they are listed as N rated for Porsche in that case.  Haven't checked the manual yet.

don't the XL also come with rim protection. I believe that Michelins with NO after the size and load rating are Porsche fitment.
