s3 akr
Is a cracked fog light reason to fail an MOT ? Mine is in on Friday for the test and that is the only visible fault I can find. The glass is intact, but the lens is cracked.
beeby11
Depends on the tester, i think it "should" be a fail. But i have cars MOT'd with a cracked fog. Probably depends if the MOT guy has had his morning coffee. Personally i would risk it but be prepared to have it replaced
Equinox
Can't imagine it being an issue if its all intact and working. I'd say it's likely to come up on the advisory list however.
Porker
Front fogs are not an mot item so can't fail on those, I thing the rear fog is though?
11891952
What Porker said, I think. The rear is certainly covered by the MOT. The fronts are easy enough to change on a 987.1, not sure about an R.
s3 akr
Easy to change - just haven't got round to getting one yet! Design911 seem to have the best pricing that I can find. Thanks all for the feedback.
Bushman
if the lens is covered with super sellotape, the wide sticky clear lens repair tape, you wont risk a failing if the glass breaks and leaves jagged edges which might be considered "dangerous bodywork". As stated correctly previously, front fogs are not a MOT requirement. even at the rear, whilst some cars have 2, you must have a working offside (rhs)rear foglight. s3 akr
It passed - haven't listed the fog as an advisory either. I shall have it replaced before the end of next week!
