Popular Post PMGPete
Some of you may have spotted this in the classifieds. This was the exact spec I was after. It's a manual 2.7 in speed yellow with only 39k on the clock. It has PASM Full leather Sports seats Sports steering wheel Sports Chronograph Nav and Bose Litronic headlights 19's I must admit I was worried I would find the lack of a 6th gear irritating and also worried it may feel under powered. However having had a bad experience with the 3.4 lump in my previous 911 I decided not to go down that road again. I had no need to worry, the car feels exceptional and offers a very different drive from my other toy, an e92 BMW M3. So far I removed a few stickers from the wheels and mirrors and added the stripes along the bottom. I'm planning on some H&R springs and some spacers in the immediate future then some alcantara touches inside. It also has a Tubi exhaust which sounds great!
UKtom
Looks fantastic, very jealous of the yellow! I would've snapped this up but it came up for sale a month too early for me as I was still in the process of selling my previous car. Glad to see it's gone to another forum member though, looking forward to seeing the progress!
s3 akr
Looks awesome - good gloss to the paintwork too. My only critique is the fog light surrounds - I prefer them to melt into the background so would probably change them to black ones. A great looking car all the same - congrats. PMGPete
Funny you should say that, the car is having them painted black on Monday and I'm also colour coding the lower lip spoilers on the front bumper too! As for the gloss, I own a detailing company so I couldn't not have it looking it's best

Popular Post PMGPete
Springs and spacers fitted. Went for H&R springs and Eibach spacers 7mm front and 15mm rear. Next up will be some interior trimming in alcantara. Then I would like to add some more body mods, perhaps a front lip, GT3 style vent and a rear spoiler. Pics to follow
Popular Post PMGPete
How it currently sits. Though after Christmas it will be looking alot different. I have ordered the following -zunsport black bumper grill - 996 GT3 cup style front splitter - Cayman GT4 style spoiler that mounts directly to the tailgate rather than on a duckbill spoiler. Much neater IMO - GT3 radiator grill. Should make the car look much more aggressive while keeping a factory feel all being well. Interior touches will be next starting with some alcantara trimming.

Hey Pete i couldn’t believe when I saw this :-). Awesome job on the Cayman! I’ve got a speed yellow cayman pretty much the same with black wheels and the same stickers too. I bought it last summer from a place near London. I think mines on H&R springs. Fantastic fun. Do you own PMG in Belfast? I think I called over to your place before Christmas to see about places I could take it for a detail and think it was your brother I spoke to, he mentioned you had one the same :-)
DJMC
I see a member's discount looming at PMG!
PMGPete
I do indeed He mentioned you had called in, would love to have seen both cars together! Certainly we can offer discounts to COC members My own goes into OPC Belfast tomorrow for some coding ahead of fitting the new rear spoiler. I am having it deactivated so it no longer auto lifts. I could have simply unplugged it but I couldn't cope with the error message on the dash. Then on Monday it's off to the body shop to paint and fit the new parts! Very excited. No way, mines into the opc tomorrow too to try and identify a lost locking wheel nut key :D. Porsche will think they’ve been invaded by yellow :D. Maybe see you there! What time you heading down? Popular Post PMGPete
Car collected today from the body shop and I am over the moon. UKtom
Love the wing mate! Do you have a link to where you got it from? Tom
crafty1
Wing looks great but also the front splitter, where did you get that from please ?
PMGPete
The splitter is a gem Porsche item and the spoiler came from an American company I found through planet 9 You have to deal with him via email I'm happy to send you his details. Spoiler was circa £1200
Buggyjam
I can’t get over how good that looks whoever did the spraying of the front clip did a stunning job. It’s seemless. Did they do just the bumper or did they blend into the arches? That wing is awesome. How’s it handle at speed?
PMGPete
Just the bumper but it was colour scanned rather than painted off a code I am actually surprised that above 69mph you can really feel the car getting more stable. I genuinely thought it would feel no different
S73FF
I know this post hasn't been updated for while..... But I'm a newbie, with a speed yellow 987.... And I just bought a private plate for mine similar to yours Y31 CAY Great minds!!
PMGPete
Ha thanks! A few more changes to mine since the last update. Got a major service at 44k miles, air con regas and a wheel alignment. The best though is that my nice brand new speed yellow seat belts are now fitted ? Next up is some GEN2 style rear lights and the steering wheel retrimned.
