Thanks, that was me Martin.

I enquired about the car the day it appeared on the website (28th July I think) but it sold that day.  The sale fell through overnight and someone turned up on the doorstep the following morning and bought it, unfortunately.  This was over 2 weeks ago now and I have phoned a couple of times because the advert still appears live and been told it is definitely sold.  I would suggest the advert should state 'Deposit Taken' or 'Reserved' and can only imagine they want to be able to offer an alternative car if someone enquires about it thinking it is for sale.

I'm gutted if I'm honest because it is exactly what I'm looking for and cars like that are few and far between these days.

One of the nicest Sports S ones for a long time.

I can't see that sticking around long; think there are only two red examples in the UK. Needs the decals sorting though ;)

I checked the stats, there are three in the UK. Green is the only rarer colour on UK roads. Admittedly, you really have to want a Sport if it isn't the GT3 colours that are your must-have feature.

‘Soup of the day’ from me is a beautiful, high specification Gen 2 Cayman S in GT Silver with special order two tone extended leather interior, PSE, PASM, factory short-shift and much more:

It's even got a rear wiper Julian!  :8_laughing:

That is a lovely one indeed. Nice find!

I spotted one earlier that I thought was very expensive, didn't post it as soup of the day, yours is way better, but it was this one

Wow. I still don't think that any non-R 987 is worth over £30k. I won't complain however 😝

Hi all, anyone know anything or have an opinion on this car?

I would paint the wheels as I don’t like the gold but seems fairly good on the face of it. Is it priced about right?

Car looks tidy enough inside and out but the drivers outer seat base bolster is pretty worn and the front bumper looks a different colour to the adjacent wings and bonnet.

Check the service history carefully and ask to see receipts for servicing and other repairs such as the coolant crossover pipes being replaced etc.  Have a good look for signs of previous accident damage and consider a PPI (pre-purchase inspection at a specialist) as it could be money well spent unless you know what you are looking at.

Toppy for a private car, but it does have nearly all the spec - Xenons, Bose, PASM, Chrono, ext leather. Plus is has an existing Porsche warranty. Think it's just had its cross pipes done, too. Would be my pick of the current crop. Don't like the Turbo II rims, but that's an easy fix.

You are correct, very good price for a Gen 2 car even at that mileage.

Agree. Also, I’d be preferring a low owner, higher mile & lower price car vs one with 50k miles and 5+ owners. Whether you’re spending £15k or £25k just have a bit set aside as both will likely need something doing in the first year or two.

Albeit sources some cars blind / online from BCA!

I haven't researched him but just my personal opinion from dealing with him and buying one of his cars. Used Car dealers are never spotless but he was by far the best I've personally come across.
