Front coolant pipes

I’ve heard this is a common problem. I’ve got mine booked in for replacements in March.

They start leaking almost without exception around the 10year point - damn clever engineering from Porsche that to get such failure rate consistency across a whole model range… 🙄

A ‘typical’ replacement cost from an Indy should be around £650 for total refit of all front crossover pipes and hoses, incl. re geo after dropping sub frame to access the pipes etc.

Labour for mine was 280(plus vat obviously)

front subframe wasn’t dropped,.

Had a low temp thermostat fitted aswell.all in total with the vat was 800 or so.

Mine were in a similar condition to yours when I had them replaced last year. My specialist said that I hold the record for the most deteriorated pipes that still held coolant! 😆

I had mine done at Crow Valley Porsche / The Ramp Room in Cwmbran, Wales. Where did you have your work done?

Barry is a good guy.  Competent mech, undoubtedly.  Haven't seen him in years though.

Where in South Wales are you? If you're on Facebook there's a South Wales Porsche Owners group where I've arranged a coffee and cars next month.
