Popular Post Windymiller
Having had a somewhat underwhelming experience with a different previous OPC in ordering a new 718 Cayman GTS4.0 back in October I cancelled my order with them and went to East London OPC via a 3rd party car broker service called Coast to Coast (recommended on PCGB forum), which obtained me a 2% discount off my cars list price (incl options). https://www.coast2coastcars.co.uk/ I know the OPC will make their ’discount’ back on the finance, but at least the finance will be on a 2% cheaper car, and £1470 staying in my pocket is better than in anyone elses. well, my experience with East London couldn’t have been more different than with the previous OPC I’d been to. As this is my first (and likely last) brand new Porsche purchase, and the realisation of a boyhood dream nearly 40 years in the making since watching the ‘awful’ Disney movie Condorman in the early 80s (check out the villains’ black 911s 🤩🥷), I wanted to feel like Mr Billy-Big Boots A-number-one High-Roller customer in speccing and buying my sparkly new porker. Ive dealt with Nasir at East London and he couldn’t have been more helpful having fielded countless questions from me by email and phone call prior to my appointment yesterday. Nasir spent all the time I needed yesterday at the showroom running around their stock and grabbing keys for different cars to show and demo the different stereo options, gauge and seat belt colours, wheel and paintwork colours etc to me. Also he made no hard sell of ‘must have‘ options and even dissuaded me from some more expensive ones that we concluded I probably wouldn’t make sufficient use of to make them worthwhile having. All of which has helped make my ‘final’ configuration (for now at least 😉). And then once I’d placed my order and e-signed the form he presented me with 2 hardbacked ‘coffee table’ brochures (one on the 718 models and 1 all about the different Porsche technologies). It really is the little things that make a difference and leave a positive impression of great customer service. So I’d like to use this forum as an opportunity to praise and recommend Nasir at OPC East London for his excellent service to date and really just ‘getting it right’ in representing a premium brand to customers who will and do come with high expectations when purchasing the cars of their dreams. 👍🏻 For anyone interested here’s my configuration (and no, I haven’t spec’d it for resale / future classic value - I’ve spec‘d what I want… 😜) http://www.porsche-code.com/PNSQNWY0 PS, my lovingly cared for manual 987.2S will be for sale around May 2022 if anyone is interested. Price TBD closer to the time given prevailing market conditions and mileage by then (currently 71k + an April ‘22 France tour - COVID travel pending). Blissya
Good to hear, agree it’s the important little things that help so good of you for the switch. I’ve spent a fair bit of time configuring a GTS 4.0, though don’t intend to order until late 2022 so plenty of time wondering about other cars for a while yet! nice spec, my current favourite colour! Windymiller
Thanks Blissya, the dealer was suggesting ordering now may not result in delivery before 2023, so dont leave it too late before they cease 718 production! They only have an allocation of 17 (at OPC East London) for 2022 and I am number 12 now. Edited December 21, 2021 by Windymiller
magic8080
Love the Genetian blue colour! Good luck with the build date and delivery. 🤞 I'm still pinching myself over my car, I've only had it 3 weeks. It's such a great car.

Might have to wait a while, goodness knows when I’ll even get a build slot with all that’s going on in the world and the fact that 2000 porkers sank to the bottom of the Atlantic only a few weeks ago on a burning car transporter. But if that’s my biggest worry in life I have nothing to really worry about (fortunately). will keep you posted on progress 👍🏻

Did you go PDK or manual? i had my PEC day last week with both transmission options and did not come away from the day with a decisive opinion. Pros and cons to both, although I think the ‘traditionalist’ (dinosaur 😁) in me is edging towards manual. 🤔🤷♂️
Popular Post Windymiller
So she’s finally in the UK and currently at Topaz detailing having a detail, paint correction, ‘track-pack’ front end PPF and ceramic coating. 🤩 Should be collecting her next Friday 18th - only 11 months after ordering her… 🤪

Popular Post Windymiller
Even though I’ve only just collected her from the dealer with a whole load of Topaz detailing prep done on her I decided she was looking a little grubby after the drive up to Ayrshire this week so took her to my mates local Detailer (Studio 16, Heathfield Ind. Est. Ayr) for a maintenance wash and I think she looks even better now than when I collected her 🤩😍 The Studio 16 owner (Andy Duff) even picked up and polished out 2 minor scratches on the paintwork, which was disappointing to find after just 2 wks, 3 drives and 950 miles since collecting her… 🤨🤷♂️ Totally recommend Andy and Studio 16 for anyone in Ayrshire. 👍🏻 https://www.studio16car.care/ Edited December 2, 2022 by Windymiller
