Liongolfer
Any one tried these air filters? Any benefit over stock paper filters? https://www.thepipercrossshop.co.uk/
wtaite01
The BMC one seems to be preferred by the tuners. D911: https://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod310/BMC-Air-Filter-for-Porsche-Boxster-987-FB416-16/ Parr: https://parr-uk.co.uk/product/porsche-987-bmc-air-filter-fb416-16/ Suspect the actual benefit may be aural only without a remap and/or other mods. That doesn't necessarily mean it's not worth it though! Edited February 10, 2022 by wtaite01
Porschaholic
I’ve had many different after market air filters on many different cars over the years. If it’s a replacement element that fits into a standard induction system there’s no difference in performance or noise that I could detect. If it’s the type that replaces the filter housing, and the vehicle doesn’t have too much sound deadening over the engine cover, you might hear an induction noise, but no performances benefit either. There can also we a wow factor if it’s in a car where you show off the engine.

Can;t feel any diff to the stock filter it replaced to be honest. I'm just bored and keen to dry something different 🙂
Popular Post Windymiller
The BMC is an oiled filter. i fitted one about 2-3 years ago I think and I felt (purely subjective) like the car had a slightly more eager pick up in the lower end of the Rev-range. It did also have a better induction sound. I’ve also since de-snorked and fitted a custom made grille (we did a group buy on here some while back) and (again subjective) feel that the car breathes better and hence runs better - I no longer seem to have the ‘flat spot’ in 3rd / 4th between ~1800 to ~ 2800 RPM. im on standard OE PSE exhaust and no fancy re-mapping. No idea if it had made any difference to bhp / ft lb, but equally I don’t really care - it subjectively sounds and feels better and that’s what matters to me 😉👍🏻
