Manual Gear Lever, side wobble - slightly annoying

Anyone else have this - is this normal for a 2011 car? Minor annoyance and wondering if I can lift the gear stick shroud and tighten something?

 

Quick video of it wobbling then I push all the way across to show normal stick movement, where is springs back as you'd expect in neutral.

Gear shift cables have been checked in Jan and didn't need replacing according to my Indy.

i think that is normal.

You can rebuild and shim the shift mechanism but there will always be a little play there. Search for "Alex Mod"

Looks good to me.  There is usually a decent amount of free play as this means you can be sloppy with your throws but still find the gear.  If you tighten it up with shims, you'll find that you need to be more precise with the shift movement than previously.
