Kai
Morning all so I've had my car for a couple of months now and would like someone who knows to give it the once over. I have a sticky rear brake, think I need new disks, a possible bearing noise plus would just like a little piece of mind as this is my first Porsche. RSJ has been recommended to me by other Porsche owners but just wanted your opinions. I live in Four Matks, nr Alton in Hampshire btw. Secondly, if I do need these parts, where is the best (and cheapest) place to get good quality parts. I'm not sure GSF will cut it ..... thanks all!! Equinox
Been to Cameron Sports Cars (Porsche specialist) just outside Bath to have mine checked when I bought it and travelled up to Cotswold Porsche Specialists in Gloucestershire to have bits done. Both are a fair distance from you but I have had a good experience at both. Parts wise I usually get branded bits from Euro Car Parts and in a few cases Porsche Bristol have been good to me price wise as well. Always worth asking for discount if you go to a main dealership
Porker
Euro car parts are good, sign up and you'll get emails with discount codes. Bought some disks recently at a good price, Design 911 are good, only bought pads and sensors but appear to have a wide range of Porsche and non Porsche OEM equivalent parts. Also have all the parts diagrams which is helpful.
Bushman
auto 2000 in Kempston, Bedford seem good. they've been a Porsche specialist for about 15 years, recommended to me but I have not yet booked a service with them. £50 per hr though, £200 for a minor, £400 for a major I was quoted last week
el_rapido
For an indy, I've used Nine Excellence before and can recommend them. They are near Gatwick, so possibly a bit far for the OC to travel.
CaymanDave
Thought of doing the brakes yourself? How spanner handy are you? It's a pretty easy job...
Kai
Thanks for the suggestions gang. Ive booked in with RSJ in Slough. Little things I can take care of myself but I just want an expert opinion. The engine has had a rebuild already before me - previous owner thought it might have the dressed bore score - so pre-empted that with full rebuild.
