987 S Track Car Build Thread

Recommended Posts

Nicely done sir!  That is some commitment to the car and your trackday needs - can't have been cheap to do inside a year. More pictures of the car when you get back to decent wifi please!  Love to see threads like this.

Enjoy the JW and good luck on getting landed anywhere near London with the snowfall etc (assuming your headed home to Blighty). City was diverting to Southend earlier, Heathrow is cancelling flights all over the place, but Gatwick and Stansted seem to be relatively normal from what I've seen on the news this morning.

Thanks mate, back in the UK safe and sound. I'll try uploading the images now.

Team Dynamics Pro Race wheels 18" and Toyo R88s. Also fitted the canards at the same time. Riveted on so not coming off in a hurry.

Probably one of the most enjoyable days ever, thrashing the Cayman on the R888 tyres, new bucket seats and track day brake pads. Perfect sunny weather and confirmed my suspicion that R888 were way too much for the stock suspension as the rolled around like a boat.

Biggest day of the build. KW Clubsport suspension arrives and it's time to put the car on the jacks for the winter build.

Plan was out with the old an on with new... that didn't happen. The plan then became, replace all broken (knackered) parts: left rear wheel hub, drive shaft, control arms, wheel bearing and handbrake cable.

Here it is fully setup by Parr Motorsport, notice the rake angle of the ride height. Car sitting just 25mm lower for now. Weather is very cold and icy to using the Continental tyres.
