I do like the silver's on all the cayman variants. I nearly bought a gt silver one but it had the pdk buttons which along with a few other negatives i ended up walking.  I still do think silver looks amazing though

Lol, it was my bandwidth being atrocious so i didn't even know this had happened.  My work takes me all over the place so internet quality is a common gripe.

It has worked well for the old post count however😃

I really like the light interior on this car (I know that many don't!), particularly with the Aqua Blue Metallic exterior.

I like it very much. I see it is under offer. You gone for it?

Hi new to the forum, just finished the thread (all 43 pages).

keen to get the forums view on this coronation soup:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202210030376606

Welcome!  👋

That car has been for sale for a very long time, perhaps since late Autumn if I remember correctly.

Advert says 5+ owners so how many is it?  'Lot's of history' stated - is that service history and is it according to Porsche service schedule, every 2 years (irrespective of low mileage)?

You need to enquire and gather facts from the owner (service history, accident history, major repairs/replacements etc) before deciding if it's worth viewing or not and then consider a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) if the car is of interest to you.

Thanks Alan, I will ask the question. Since I posted I found these MOT advisories

Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):

1)Rear Oil leak, but not excessive (8.4.1 (a) (i))

2)Front Coolant leak

3)Nearside Front Play in steering rack inner joint(s)

I have asked about remediation. I think the spec is very good not sure why it’s been on the market since Autumn. WBAC is offering 20.5k so I’m guessing it’s the price point that’s slowing down the sale, I’m guessing the right money for a quick sale is 24-25? But that’s my inexperienced opinion, I’m still trying to understand the market, hence the post.

@Alan W I came across your criteria for purchase did you ended finding one? Also did the dealers you contacted ever get back to you? I noticed this one was recently added https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202305047005582

it’s a bit over my budget with some spec requirements missing.

Not found a car yet and any that I have enquired about all seemed to have a lack of service history, some paint or something else that I wasn't prepared to accept.

Tom at Ashgood contacted me with a heads-up on a car he was expecting to come in.  However, the owner changed his mind and the car didn't appear.

Hi guys,

Still tempted by a cayman. (I’d like a base, ideally a 2.9 but hard to find a good priced one with some spec)

This one has popped up and could be a contender, I don’t know much about the base 2.7 engine, have I got anything I need to watch? Is IMS an issue?

What are peoples thoughts?

Thanks

Ash

The service history, in terms of notable independent Porsche specialists, well there are none. Its all local garage down the road. That service history has made the car unsellable in my opinion....and the alloys are rather undesirable and basic by comparison to what else is out there now, or by holding on.

If manual was an option then the red one at £1.5K more is far better.
