Popular Post UKtom
Took the car down to The New Forest last weekend and gained a few extra bhp... I also bought some black mesh to fit behind the GT3 RS grill. I was originally going for silver but I feel black is more subtle. Will hopefully be fitting this weekend... I had lots of intentions to throw a huge amount of money at the car over, however our house has taken priority which has left little money left over for mods unfortunately. Still, slow progress is better than no progress I guess! Spacers are on order and should be here soon, I am booking the car in for some more exhaust fabrication - I am putting a silencer in the system as the straight through is just too much for a daily driver (plus my neighbours aren't very impressed) and I am looking at respraying the front end - including colour coding the side splitters (similar to the Cayman R) and smoothing the front end to get rid of the nasty number plate holes. Popular Post UKtom
Front bumper came off yesterday to fit the mesh behind the gt3 grill. Looks so much better now, very happy with the outcome. Also popped along to Ergen Motorsport’s BHP breakfast meet this morning. Merry Christmas everyone! Popular Post UKtom
Hope everyone had a great Christmas! A couple of small changes to the Cayman over the past week. Firstly she got some fresh new OEM centre caps - this time with a silver Porsche logo rather than the old tired gold ones. I also fitted some LED headlight bulbs to replace my halogen bulbs. I was previously using the Philips Racing Vision bulbs which were excellent for halogen bulbs, but the LED’s are on another level. Noticeably better beam pattern and light output. Here are some pics: Just need to compound those headlight lenses now! Tom

Founder Beanoir™ Posted December 30, 2017 Founder Share Posted December 30, 2017 Looking good Tom! LEDs do look smart! Love the New Forest photos too, that’s my favorite spot.
Popular Post UKtom
Thanks for the kind comments guys Another mod today, this time a nice subtle OEM+ one. I changed the rear trunk badge for a blacked out version from a 2018 spec 718 Cayman. Here it is: Slightly smaller than standard but makes the rear end look much wider! Not sure if anyone else has done this before but I love it. Tom

UKtom
No real update, but I have paid for and waiting for a steering wheel retrim, plus a couple of other interior retrim goodies. I won’t spoil the surprise with the finish/colour I’ve gone for, but it’s very OEM+. Can’t wait to show you! Today I went for a Sunday drive down to Goodwood Motor Circuit. The more I drive this thing, the more I fall in love. Really looking forward to meeting a few of you next weekend at RPM Technik. I am hoping my spacers arrive this week too so I can get them on in time for the meet! Tom
Founder Beanoir™ Posted January 7, 2018 Founder Share Posted January 7, 2018 Who did you use for the steering wheel re-trim? Royal?

Jack has been very patient with me changing my mind on a frequent basis as to what finish I wanted prior to placing the order. It’s so hard trying to visualise how it will look but should be ready a week tomorrow Edited January 7, 2018 by UKtom
UKtom
Spacers have arrived, Thankyou to GregD2016! Now to just find time to get them fitted before Sunday... They are 15mm rear and 5mm front. I don’t expect the fronts to make much/any difference but we’ll see. Tom
SpannerMan
You’ll be giving yourself more understeer with that F/R combo Tom, it’s more usual for Cayman owners to increase the front track to reduce the understeer on these cars.

Really!? I haven't done much research to be fair but that surprises me! Thanks for the heads up. I'll see how I get on, they might not last long if that is the case... I had the camber set in as far as possible and the spacers and it brought the car to life! Didn't put any on the rears.
UKtom
Another update on the cayman tonight (my girlfriend is going to kill me with the amount I'm spending on it recently!!) Managed to bag a standard Cayman S exhaust system off eBay for a mere £40, so it will be going on the car soon to replace the cat-back straight through... much to my neighbours delight. If anyones interested in the straight through please let me know as I'm happy to let it go cheap - video here: Tom
