PhilCS
So, I was having this debate last night with a mate. If you had a base spec Cayman and could only add 3 options, what would they be. For me its: 1. Sports Steering Wheel 2. Bluetooth Phone Prep 3. Sports Seats
Windymiller
1. PSE 2.. Full leather 3. PCM (incl sat nav, phone, Bluetooth etc) Edited June 16, 2018 by Windymiller
Bushman
same as Windy but the leather seats must be heated
Founder Beanoir™ Posted June 16, 2018 Founder Share Posted June 16, 2018 Personally I wouldn't bother with PSE, Carnewal sounds better. Assuming any car is manual. For a Cayman S: 1. Sport Design steering wheel 2. Shortshift 3. Sports seats for an R: 1. Bucket seats 2. Climate 3. Spyder Wheels
DJMC
1. PDK 2. Cruise 3. PASM Standard PDK steering wheel comes with paddles now. Is PCM standard too? Can't find it as an option on the configurator. Edited June 16, 2018 by DJMC

If PCM with phone prep etc is standard now then I think I’d have to toss a coin for PASM or sport chrono (ie the throttle sharpening response etc, not just a stop watch on the dash....) ? PMGPete
Full leather Sports seats PASM
Trickle
I have to say I agree PSE is pretty wanky on the 987. On the 981 it’s a bit OTT and the popping on over-run is a bit false and repetitive. Wouldn’t be on my list either. 1. Lightest wheels available 2. Non-PASM 3. LSD Edited June 18, 2018 by Trickle

I now revise my list. 1. (Wanky) PSE ? 2. Full leather (incl heated seats of course) 3. LSD (assuming I’ve gone for passive sports suspension in the main build - so technically not using one of my 3 options... ??)

You're speccing a 718 remember, as that's the only car you can spec. And PSE on the 718 is bound to be very un-wanky. ?

I kind of meant this thread to cover any Cayman, so 'speccing' referred also to choosing and considering a 987 based on the options it does or doesn't have.. The 718 PSE is naff though, it amplifies the already wanky sound

Yeah, when the base price was increased last year they added PCM as standard but don't think this includes CarPlay. Think DAB was made standard too but not 100%, there were a couple things though. On a 718 it'd be: PSE Sport Chrono 19" wheels (not sure what design)
Cayman R Paul
Carbon bucket seats Spyder wheels PSE On an R, that is.
