So I was out at Rockingham this weekend for GTi International. Managed to book a full afternoon of track time on the National circuit so got about 7x 30min sessions. Was a brilliant day out and the weather held up really well.

Car performed well but does need some minor tweaks to the rear end to compensate the front aero. Going to get a big GT cup car style wing made up as I was finding turn in brilliant but felt it was causing the rear end to lift and step out on tight bends at slower speeds. Higher speeds everything felt very planted.

Anyway a few pictures from the track and I will link a cockpit video when I get home.

So the day is finally here and the car has been dropped off for the full wrap this week. Literally going to be such a long and painful week without it and having to wait to see the finished result!

Smoking!!!

I have a wrap planned for the new project actually.  I always wonder what happens with the door shuts, do they wrap that too? or do you see original colour anywhere?

A good wrapping company will always wrap all door/bonnet/boot shuts, but you get what you pay for, as with most things.

Most places will keep your car for a week to strip it down, wrap and then rebuild.

DubCustoms in Basildon Essex has a extremely good reputation, they aren't cheap, but they do some fantastic work.

Thanks all I am really pleased with how it has come out!

Splitter is by Joe Toth in Canada. Currently made from fibreglass however I am in the process of producing a similar style splitter in abs plastic. 3D scan of the car has taken place and the cad has been designed I'm just waiting on a second scan to be carried out so I know that the part is 100% accurate to the car before a tool gets made.

Side skirts are by Xclusive Customz in Sheffield

I decided not to get the door shuts done. Because black is a really forgiving colour when it comes to wrapping I deemed it not necessary. Only time you would tell is if you left the doors open or the boot.

They kept the car just over a week and stripped off what they needed to do before wrapping it. Took a little while longer as he had trouble taking the door handles and mirrors apart as I wanted to keep parts of each black and some purple which caused some more hassle.
