Popular Post Equinox
So thought I'd post up a change that's happened recently. After owning the Fuch wheels for about 3 years I fancied a bit of a change. As I'm sure some of you do, I always find myself searching Facebook marketplace and ebay for bargains and interesting things. And this weekend just gone I came across an advert for some wheels I liked the look of and best of all they were cheap. On looking over the ad it just so happens they were the exact size and dimensions I wanted. And a similar style to what I thought I'd go with next too. Straight on the phone to arrange to see them. Turns out they were essentially brand new with about 100miles on them. Style just didn't suit him. He had them on gumtree for 6 months but with no bites. I'd imagine down to the advert as I had to really search the listing to work out the specs. Then his son put them on fb marketplace which is where I found them 24hours later. So here they are as a new look
sevenfourate
They are fabulous. Very nice indeed and look stupendously well on yours. I’m quite jealous !
Equinox
So initial fender vent designs are in. Much nicer edges that blend much more gradually into the fender. Just getting final pricing back and they will be offered for sale for anyone interested in picking up a set.
Equinox
So latest changes are happening. And they will be big. Picked up a Pandem wide body kit and a gt2 rear deck lid, plus a few other bits ready to go full one off on a custom wide body. Exhausts will be moving from the centre as well for something totally unique. Think a Japanese rwb bosozoku styled Cayman and you can let your imagination run wild. I will be documenting all the good bad and ugly on my YouTube channel. This should get interesting 😂
Founder Beanoir™ Posted August 4, 2020 Founder Share Posted August 4, 2020 Every instalment of your project is good fun Tom. It’s certainly a world away from the car you arrived in at one of the early OC meets in Reading (I think it was?). Watching this one for sure! 👍🏻
Equinox
So ended up attending Summer Action Festival at Castle Coombe this weekend. Was invited along by Wrapping Masters who wrapped my car purple about 3-4 years back. The event was alot quieter compared to previous years as they limited attendance due to covid and made sure people could distance from each other around the whole venue. Still ended up a really good day. Even made it out for a few laps to mess around as a spirited parade lap haha! Thats it for shows now and full steam ahead commences on fitting the wide bodykit.

Popular Post Equinox
So updates have happened. As some will know I picked up a pandem rocket bunny wide bodykit last month. Today I decided after work to line it up and test fit it ro the car, here are the results. Looks like atleast one side isn't going to be tons of work which is nice. Haven't tested the other side yet so will see what happens with that. Haven't put the front bits on yet as I need to custom fabricate those to blend into the gt4 bumper. Follow the build on my Instagram and YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/user/oldey2220

Popular Post Equinox
So the kit is now fitted and on the car. Still need to blend the front spats into the bumper and get everything fully buttoned up before ite wrapped. Very much skipped leg day at the moment though 🤣 wheels are coming! Video of the build is on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/oldey2220 Edited August 23, 2020 by Equinox

Lennym1984
Looks wide! I'll look forward to seeing the finished product. How are you going to widen the rear track enough to fill out the arches?

Popular Post Equinox
Few more updates. Starting to finish up the front blend pieces. Still some. Work to smooth off but atleast it's all starting to look together. Sorted / made some side skirts for the kit. Never liked how the v1 kit 'swoops' under along the side. So wanted some Motorsport inspired side steps instead. I will be matching the lines of these to a new front splitter and rear diffuser once I've worked out what I want to do. Just need some stengthing through the centre and they can be painted / wrapped. Also making progress on the wheels front and now decision is which out of a few options I go with. Should be awesome once they are on.
Equinox
OK probably time for another update on here. Made the decision to ditch my current wing setup and look at a duck tail / gt2 rwb style setup. Seen something similar done before on a 987 and really liked the look of it so I took a chisel and bashed the old wing base to 'unbond' it from the rear deck lid 🤣 Been a few weekends of work and I've also been blocking in all the kit with filler primer and sanding it all smooth ready for getting it wrapped. Here is how it stands at the moment!! Things have definitely been escalating 😂
Founder Beanoir™ Posted October 18, 2020 Founder Share Posted October 18, 2020 Wow! Genuine idiot question from me, how do you go about making the track that much wider at the rear to fit the wider arches? Looks like it must be about 6” or so. Tozerman
Sorry to be negative but that looks like a caricature of a Cayman. I won't use the word ruined as it is your car and that is all that matters 🤔 I hope you never plan to sell it. 😁
Andy
Will be interested to see the final end product, as we all know that any project car at the half way point looks off to most, other than the person who has the final vision in their mind. It'll certainly be one of a kind, but then it always was without the kit fitted Interested to see how the wings work... that is the only bit I'm not sure about.
