Popular Post PMGPete
Thanks! Few more mods planned over winter such as a retrimmed wheel, half cage and some fabric door pulls. Though @Peopleandcars has me looking at Numeric Racing shifters now!
PMGPete
Some new rubber to go on. Hear nothing but good reports. Wheels refurb and get these fitted next week. I have also ordered a set of new Recaro Pole Positions, however there is an 8 week wait! Lastly have ordered a cage from stuggart classica and some GT style door pulls with yellow strapping to match my seat belts. Then over winter the car is having a Quaiffe LSD and some braking upgrades fitted. More pics to follow once everything is fitted
sevenfourate
Not been here long. So not seen this. What a great car ! Fantastic 😎 Love what you’ve done so far and visually it’s stunning. I have experience of the Pole Positions. They will enhance the experience too..... Another who went for a 2.7 over concerns with the bigger lump. I’ve got the same mated to a 5 speed box. After test driving a few 3.4’s. Some concerns and a 2.7 appearing with good history / owners and low miles swayed me into thinking although not the ‘dream’ perhaps - it was the right car to buy and own. It’s ‘enough’ so far I have to say... Looking forward to some more pics once your next stage of enhancements is complete. Thanks for sharing. Some fab pics you’ve captured too 👍 Edited August 30, 2019 by sevenfourate
Popular Post PMGPete
So awesome update time 😎 Ordered these from Recaro through GSM. Took almost 12 weeks but well worth the wait. Also fitted this cage, ordered through Stuttgart Classics and had originally ordered the x brace but the manufacturer shipped the wrong one. Couldn't face another 10 week wait on it being sorted out so I'll stick with this. Probably will have an x brace fabbed for it over winter. Other than that winter plans are to just dismantle the car and clean it from top to bottom, while it's up on stands I'll be having my wheels refurbed and my Ps4S's fitted

Dougle_turbo
Another convert! So you got them in eventually, good work. The cage looks awesome, are you going to run harnesses? What belt buckles have you used? A part number or link would be great. P.S love the car.
PMGPete
No plan for harnesses as it will rarely if ever venture on to a track (have an mx5 race car for that) That's just the standard buckles They had sent the wrong side mounts so it was an easy fix lol
Dougle_turbo
Interesting, did you mount the buckles higher up the side mount? I used the existing holes, meaning they sit right down in the seat and can be tricky to get to.

Popular Post PMGPete
So having just turned the 50k mark it was time to have some proper maintenance carried out as aside from upgrades and servicing I have had to do nothing else in my ownership so far. I had noticed an odd creaking sound from the front suspension when wet or just after washing etc and the brakes were really in need of TLC. So the car is currently at McMillan Porsche. After a thorough going over we are doing the following maintenance and upgrades - new discs all round - new pads - better fluid - braided lines - gt3 master cylinder They have noticed the rear main seal weeping so I'm having that replaced. Also while we are that far in, they suggested biting the bullet and fitting an LSD now since I was planning it anyway and while we are at it might as well do a clutch for some preventative maintenance. The car is also a little smokey on start up so doing the Air Oil separator at this stage. Last thing will be fresh bushings throughout just to make sure everything is 100% Going to be a hefty enough bill but that will be the car well sorted for future. My mod list is nearing completion. Finishing off the interior will be the next stage then maybe a few last mechanical mods. If a set of Cayman R wheels ever come up they would be ideal too. Roll on getting the car back to feel tbe difference
