Popular Post Wah
I have joined this forum because I recently test drove a 981 & 718 Boxster. Liked them both but I shall be aiming to buy a 981 as soon as I can. I have had my S2000 ('Berlinda') for ten years, almost from new, and she is now approaching 120k miles. She has not missed a beat, just one faulty O2 sensor. I have recently fitted new brake calipers all-round, Bilstein coilovers and a new roof. Still enjoy driving her after all this time so don't want to part with her. Bought a Focus RS in Dec 16; it's a good car but we haven't really bonded. Going in for the Head Gasket recall next week then shall look to move him on. My favourite cars over the years have all been normally aspirated (XR2i 16v, 106gti, Type-R EP3, S2000) and the turbo'ed ones disappointing (5GT Turbo, Focus RS). So I think a 981 Boxster or Cayman will be my next car, which really depends upon the right spec coming up! Look forward to meeting some of you in the future
987Monkey
Welcome! Why the 981 over the 718?
Founder Beanoir™ Posted August 15, 2018 Founder Share Posted August 15, 2018 Welcome 981 (Cayman!) would be a good choice, wouldn’t mind one myself! I once had an XR2i, never bonded with it myself, preferred the XR2 I had before it. Bought another and kept it for 11years, had to sell her last year
Wah
Today placed a deposit on a 981 Cayman GTS. Manual, Sports exhaust & tail pipe, sports suspension, 40% locking diff, bi-xenon with pdls+, ceramic brakes, climate control, PCM with Burmester speakers, Chrono+, 18-way seats, extended leather, full carbon and red stitching GTS pack, carbon sills, heated seats. Couldn’t say ‘no’

Popular Post Wah
Just a few hours of driving my 981 Cayman GTS have given me more pleasure than almost 2 years in the Focus RS. An expensive error of judgement, but in the right car now! The passive Sports suspension is just perfect (no more 'normal' is too soft, 'sport' is too hard and bouncy, in the FRS). Love switching between 'Normal', 'Sport' & 'Sport Plus'; a setting for all occasions. Wonderful engine bark on start-up. Great gear-change, almost as good as my S2000's. Burmester speaker system is also amazing. Looking forward to getting to know 'Queenie' better......
