Has anyone tried the Porsche shop hid kit

Recommended Posts

I’m very interested in converting to hid dipped headlights on my 987.1

The porsche shop kit is very well priced

Has anyone had any experience with these ?

Easy to install ?

Are the results worth it?

Thanks Scott,

it costs a bit but if it works as it should, it is affordable, I think.

Would be nice to see if someone did try it. What I understood is that with this kit you can convert main OR dipped beam, which would be expensive if you want to do both. I guess you should have to buy 2 kits.

My only concern is that probably it is not road legal (?) so every MOT it needs to be removed. Not ideal.

Sure! I was thinking to take some pictures before/after but I need to find a dark spot before.

Anyway, I will let you know as soon as I will put them on.

Andrea

to be legal, I believe the light units must be driver adjustable and must have washer jets. that's why I went down the Nighteye route for both dips and mains. really happy with this choice too.

Guys,

today they are arrived and I could not wait longer, so I am just back from the garage.

I chucked them on and....I am super super happy!

I just switched on the car and the lights waiting for some flickering or error message, but nothing like so!

The light is a beautiful and omogenous white. Unfortunately I can’t say more because I did not have a spin, but tomorrow very early morning I am off to the airport so I can test them in the dark.

So far I can only recommend them.

Ah, just a thing: they come in pairs, so if you want to have a go, just order 1 as quantity. I ordered 2 and now I have a spare 🙂

Cheers,

Andrea

Hi Scott,

yesterday morning I went to Heathrow early in the morning and it was also foggy...I felt very lucky to have installed those! Completely another world! Super recommended!

I had no error or flickering. Was a straightforward replacement.

Go go for it!

cheers,

Andrea

Hi,

i was looking for the high beam led bulbs but I got confused. If I’m not ero già, they should be the H9. There are thousands of them, do you remember which one you fit fit on the car?

cheers,

Andrea

I didn't change the high beam, only the main beam.
