Equinox Posted March 23, 2020 Author Share Posted March 23, 2020 So finally started work on the 19inch Cayenne wheels I picked up a little while ago for very cheap. Think the personally look great so given me motivation to get finished. Also they do fit! which I had a few people adamant on the porsche owners Facebook groups that they wouldn't despite the figures I gave them 🤣 Also picked up another set of 18's that require some work to fix the worming on the lips. Very lucky to have had it when we did, and also lucky to have an understanding wife that let me use the photographer to get pictures of my car 🤣🤣 Been playing around with wheels today. Picked these 18s up advertised as 5x130 pcd. Stupidly the one time you don't check is when it gets you, so turns out they are 5x112. Luckily I had adapters at home to fit this pcd on 5x130 however they are going to be too wide up front. Looks pretty good though and we're going to be my track wheels. So instead I went ahead and mocked up what I've been toying with doing to my Fuch wheels by getting them refurbed. I've been mulling over some stuff recently and finally pulled the plug on putting together a custom gt wing for the Cayman. I've been putting videos up on my YouTube along the way which is: Youtube = Tom Mods Things The wing blade is from a company called grams styling which specialise in custom aftearket parts for the Japanese car market. However I'd noticed a universal wing blade they sold which I thought I'd be able to make work in place of the techart style one on there currently. So the idea was set. And like when you get that urge to do something silly I finally went ahead and ordered one. Very easy procedure and turned up well packaged and perfectly formed. Next it was time to start the process of positioning it and making some new uprights, end plates etc... I started with some spare acrylic sheet I had laying around. Basicly using this to position and then use the dimensions to design brackets in cad and then get them cut from aluminium like the previous ones. Happy with how it was coming along. Next on the list was to design with some card and then make out of carbon some end plates. Then the only thing left was to get the uprights and end plates kicked off and manufactured. Which has now happened and I'm just awaiting delivery. I personally thing it looks bloody epic however I know for a fact it will divide opinions Something unrelated but also underway are some front fender vents I've design and getting manufactured. Prototypes are out for delivery and once finalised I will be making some sets for anyone interested. A few pictures bellow to show these. So that's it for the moment. Good for you ! And you won't see one the same once you've mounted it up 👌 And i like the individual aspect of the 'louvres' on the front wings too. Cool stuff........ Can i ask where you got the black headlight (Decal ?) surround trims from ? I'm not sure he does them anymore as I can't find the advert he had up at the time. Will keep hunting to try find his name as it was a while ago that I got them. Equinox Posted May 11, 2020 Author Share Posted May 11, 2020 Going to keep things rolling. I have had the initial prototype back for the fender vents. Initial impression is great. They fit really well but I'm going to adjust the curvature of one side to make them even better. Bearing in min they are slightly sat off the fender as I have a mounting rib running round the underside for locating into the hole that will be cut in the fender. So all systems go with this. Will take some measurements off this initial one and get another couple kicked off with some tweaks to vent height and size etc... Pick the best and then push forward getting them properly manufactured. Always loved proper home brew custom modifications. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you are referring to the ones on ebay, they are only $20 but then the postage pretty much doubles the price. If somebody wants to order a few sets, perhaps there is a deal to be done.
