UK: 987 rear Wing options ?

Recommended Posts

Don't be shy. Time to confess.....

Who's 'butchered' those timeless 987 lines and ruined them with the addition of a rear wing.

Pretty sure now; i'm going for it at some point. So who's got what, from where and what have been your experiences on fit, quality etc ?

Any pictures would be fantastic.

Stock v not so stock.

I like seeing a standard 987 from time to time to remind me how good they look.

Wing 1: Tried a GT4 shape wing, but it was useless. Really heavy and only produced drag and didn't look right.

Wing 2: 997 cup car wing, Getty wing base and up rights. Plenty of downforce, lots of adjustments and not too much drag. But, It's bloody massive so I remove it when driving on the road.

Hi,  Good to see you're doing well.

I got the Delta wing from your shores.  I;m not a fan of overly big wings.  I can;t seem to post pics here so I hope its ok to share a link to another forum.  There are a couple of pics from the rear, one with a duck tail and the other with stock.

Hello 🙂

Yes; i too am considering something more aggressive than the stock offering. But without going full ASBO / Boy-racer / ricer-look. My cars already fairly 'non standard'. So i don't have the whole 'residual / ongoing value of a completely stock car' argument to ponder over.....

The one you've linked too is really nice. Another viable option. Thanks !

I am quite keen on the ducktail spoilers, think they suit the shapes well.

Maybe have a chat with PDI, they're in the club: https://www.pdi-design.co.uk/

Thankyou. Very nice as a duck tail they are too. But it’s a Wing or nothing for me. I think I’m going to go for it….

What about the Cayman R wing? Personally I'm not that keen on them but it's an option

Hi Lenny. I don’t want too OTT: in my own mind at least…..

But the R wing is still quite subtle imo.

The top one looks surprisingly good. What wing is it?

You've really got to find a like-minded soul to recoup your expenditure with something that modified.

It's a weird one that. On the one hand there are some choice performance mods but on the other hand there is that bodykit and slightly cheap looking replica bucket seats. I'm not totally sure who it would appeal to...especially at almost 30 grand.

30k for a car with totally different panel colours?  Oh dear.

The colour difference between the skirt/quarter and rest of the original car is beyond:

One should always paint the whole car or leave it well alone.

I would pity the poor soul that drops strong money on this.

I'm trying to figure it out. Have they just used ridiculously large-diameter tubing? And what's with the ugly joins? It must be twice as heavy as a normal weld-in...

Along the lines of what Ginginho is saying... of the "over 20k of upgrades", there's got to be perhaps £2k-worth that I'm actually interested in? And at the seemingly botched roll cage, I'm not sure I'd have confidence in them...
